Hey JJ, I ordered a ROG Hero Maximus VIII Z170 board that should be here today. I already have a PCIe Intel 750 400GB, can I get a 2.5" Intel 750 with the M.2 adapter and do a bootable raid 0? If so, I understand that when I use PCIEx4_3 for the PCIe version that PCIEX1_2 & PCIEX1_3 will be disabled. I also read in the manual that when the M.2 card slot is used in SATA mode, SATA ports 1 and 2 (SATA6G_12) will be disabled, this is per the M/B manual. If an Intel 750 with the mini SAS adapter is used and drive is NVMe will those ports still be disabled? I can work around the disablement of the PCIe slots, the SATA slots if necessary. My main question is 1) Am I out of my mind? 2) Can a bootable RAID 0 be done if setup as I've described and how much if any will I be limited by the DMI 3.0 Link to the CPU? I am going to be connecting a 1TB Samsung 850 Pro, 3 x 2TB Seagate SSHD, and was going to connect my Blu-ray reader to the Asmedia controller. Which leads to my final question, will this controller be disabled in the setup I have come up with here? I've been reading a lot and can't remember but I thought because of either the PCIEX4_3???
Thank you very much, I've attempted to communicate this as clearly as possible given the complexity of what I'm wishing to attempt?
