10 minute intro to HTML5 Geolocation API.

LevKozlodoev: +David Farinic Well as far as reliability of the geolocation implantation goes my hands are tied here - it's all about what the client is.
I just need a way to override this permission request. On mobile devices this is often a system GUI message box. If there's any exploit in the browser code that could screw with the API call to invoke the message of that would be swell, perhaps even outright injection...

Matthew Bonig: +LevKozlodoev permission from the user is a very deliberate and nnecessarystep. In places like the EU you cannot take the users information like that without their permission. The browser (probably) just stores the url and "yes" when the user accepts.

David Farinic: +LevKozlodoev use https and it will ask just once. if you use http it will ask each time user opens same url.
Bear in mind that html5 is implemented in different ways everywhere so for example on geolocation query for max precision asking on android 4.2+ 4.4 will not give you best precision if there is no other background native app running which is at same time doing high prec GPS queries. I.E. on some devices you can not use this for turn by turn navigation. but what the hack I saw same even with native api while back on samsung galaxy 1 phone some years ago (samsung ppl were fixing it for 6 month)
