Protecting private property rights against government incursion is a hot-button issue for many of the same conservatives who also worry about border security. In Texas, politicians in both parties resist the idea of a full-length border wall, calling it far too costly compared with more high-tech solutions.
Trump's budget calls for $4.1 billion toward the wall through 2018. The funds would come from general revenue — that is, U.S. taxpayers.

Despite being a non-believer, the prog rock hero says he has a “huge affinity for the deeds and traditions” of Christianity.

[Ian Anderson] added: “The bringing together of people of all backgrounds, cultures and faiths in this way is possible, perhaps, only under the auspices of modern Christianity, especially the Anglican Church. So, if I can help to draw people in to these beautiful and historic buildings to savour just a little of the spirit of Christmas, it seems like a worthwhile effort.”

The Very Reverend Jerry Lepine, Dean of Bradford, said: “He has a real feel for the financial burden of keeping these buildings going, and also their heritage. He loves playing gigs in these kinds of places at Christmas.

“Really what they are doing is giving us a massive Christmas gift, all the money will go towards helping the Cathedral pay its way, and for that we are incredibly grateful to him."

A new exhibition produced by the San Francisco Arts Commission Galleries, in conjunction with a city-wide celebration of the Summer of Love’s 50th anniversary, features 80 prints from Marshall’s prolific 1967 output. The show proves the value of Marshall’s work as a historical document, but it is also, as SFAC Galleries director and co-curator Meg Shiffler describes, “an exhibition that focuses on the way that photographer Jim Marshall helped to define our cultural understanding of the Summer of Love, the San Francisco hippie movement, and the birth of psychedelic rock and roll.”

That’s what this is all about. It’s about a transfer tax, basically.

Eliminating the Affordable Care Act means eliminating an awful lot of things that people badly need in return for what? So the .9 percent in taxes for people making over $250,000 couples can be returned to them? So drug companies and insurance companies and medical device companies can benefit? It’s a transfer of about a trillion dollars to those folks out there from everybody in the country. That’s what this is, and that’s classic Republican politics. This is a tax bill to them.
