Every generation of Jews must learn the trauma of the Holocaust from parents or community. But a new study says the trauma can be passed along genetically.

On August 27, 1942, the last public prayer service was held in Wiesbaden, Germany.

For the next 2 days, 600 Jews, many of them elderly and weak, were gathered in the courtyard of the Orthodox synagogue. On the August 29th, the Jews of Wiesbaden were deported to Frankfurt, where another 600 local Jews boarded the train. On the September 1st, the train left Frankfurt, and it arrived in Theresienstadt the following day.

Yad Vashem, Israel’s Holocaust trust and memorial, is sharing these photos as a way to preserve the memory of those lost–baruch dayan emet.

Just as "corporate personhood" and "money as speech" is terrible for democracy, "right to work" laws are terrible for workers. We've known this truth since the Civil Rights Movement, when the Rev. Martin Luther King warned:

"In our glorious fight for civil rights, we must guard against being fooled by false slogans, such as 'right to work.' It is a law to rob us of our civil rights and job rights. It is supported by Southern segregationists who are trying to keep us from achieving our civil rights and our right of equal job opportunity. Its purpose is to destroy labor unions and the freedom of collective bargaining by which unions have improved wages and working conditions of everyone…Wherever these laws have been passed, wages are lower, job opportunities are fewer and there are no civil rights. We do not intend to let them do this to us. We demand this fraud be stopped. Our weapon is our vote."

When corporations say they're lobbying for your "right to work," they're actually lobbying for their "right" to pay you less. Stand up for the rights of real working people and sign our petition at http://MoveToAmend.org/motion or text the word SIGN to 1-707-656-4019!

I ordered a power cord for my CPAP machine. My experience was positive. Ordering was painless and the equipment arrived quickly. I would work with them again.

Beds were more comfortable than expected. The breakfast was better than expected as well, including waffles. The wifi was horrible in the room but excellent if you were in the breakfast room or lobby. Shower was strong. The male manager was friendly and accommodating. The female manager seemed to resent having to be there. The night staff was very good when we checked in at midnight.
