i enjoyed your post on the decision to eat meat.    I feel the same and  agree should be done ethically, in moderation and aware of its source.  Going back to fish was ok for me, but other meats it just felt weird having animal oils in my mouth, making myself still avoid them.

The great slacktivism debate. I face off in a blog debate with +Willie Matis. What side do you agree with?

"It would be great to get rid of Kony. He and his forces have left a path of abductions and mass murder in their wake for over 20 years. But let's get two things straight: 1) Joseph Kony is not in Uganda and hasn't been for 6 years; 2) the LRA now numbers at most in the hundreds, and while it is still causing immense suffering, it is unclear how millions of well-meaning but misinformed people are going to help deal with the more complicated reality."
Thanks to an incredibly effective social media effort, #StopKony is trending on Twitter today. The campaign coincides with a new awareness-raising documentary by the group Invisible Children. Former F...

An interesting way to look at the contraceptive controversy.
As economists look at the effect of contraception on the work force, one study found it accounted for 30 percent of the convergence of men's and women's earnings in a 10-year period.

"the IMF tends to see public investment as a short-term stabilization issue, and has failed to grasp its long-term growth consequences. If low-income countries are stuck in a low-level equilibrium, then putting constraints on their infrastructure spending may ensure they never take off."
Burma is at a crossroads. While the country's dramatic (and fragile) political opening is receiving plenty of attention, its leaders are also confronting some stark decisions about their economic ...

A good read.
Arguing that the way to stimulate the economy is to cut taxes for the wealthy will prove tough going in the general election, an economist writes.

Joseph Stiglitz. There's a reason why he won a Nobel Prize, was the World Bank's Chief Economist, and is my personal favorite economist.
Nobel Prize-winning economist Joseph Stiglitz sat down with The Record Wednesday evening following his speech at Ramapo College. : page 1

Introduction
I'm Stacy, the Co-Founder + CEO of Give To Get Jobs.  Give To Get Jobs is a job board and information hub for jobs in the for-profit sector with a social and/or environmental mission, mainly social enterprise and corporate social responsibility.  As a social enterprise ourselves, we donate a portion of the proceeds from each posting to fund job creation programs.

Other interests:  My husband and I will be in the wine industry someday in some way, shape, or form.  I have a slightly unhealthy obsession with real estate.  And Fiona Apple.  I have a lot of love for my alma mater, Wake Forest.
