This is a great video to watch with your kids about the Trappist-1 exoplanet system discovery that was announced this past week by NASA.

Some more info about the discovery can be found here: https://www.nasa.gov/press-release/nasa-telescope-reveals-largest-batch-of-earth-size-habitable-zone-planets-around "NASA's Spitzer Space Telescope has revealed the first known system of seven Earth-size planets around a single star. Three of these planets are firmly located in the habitable zone, the area around the parent star where a rocky planet is most likely to have liquid water.

The discovery sets a new record for greatest number of habitable-zone planets found around a single star outside our solar system. All of these seven planets could have liquid water – key to life as we know it – under the right atmospheric conditions, but the chances are highest with the three in the habitable zone."

Hayden, age 7,may be our youngest Student Space Ambassador. He joined us last year for our #TrainLikeAMartian event and has been going to events to meet astronomers, astronauts and other space people since then. His mom says he is always happy to tell them about The Mars Generation. Hayden has decided he wants to go to Mars too since participating in our event. This is what inspiring young people does. Gives them something big to dream about and work towards.

We are proud of the work our board member Dr. Phil Metzger is doing for Mars research. Check it out.

"Other UCF faculty members continue researching in situ resource utilization. Phil Metzger of UCF’s Florida Space Institute, is working with commercial space mining company Deep Space Industries to figure out a way to make Martian soil pliable and useful for 3D printing. The same company has tapped Metzger and UCF colleague Dan Britt to develop simulated asteroid regolith that will help them develop hardware for asteroid mining."

We are back from our #TMGtoursUAE trip. While we were away we spent some time exploring Abu Dhabi. We visited a local fruit and vegetable market, the Sheikh Zayed Mosque, Emirates Palace and more. It is truly a magnificent place with so much history.
