This question isn't meant to discourage donations. It is just meant to get people to think about bigger change too. Checks and canned food just seem so much easier than that phone call or raising a bit of hell.

Porter Memorial Library and lots of their community partners are hosting The Big Read in Downeast. Free arts workshops, parties, book discussions, and readers theater performance all inspired by Ursula Le Guin's A Wizard of Earthsea. Squeezing in some last scifi for summer. "Yesterday's Kin" will be out on September 15th of this year. I'm already hoping for a follow up book. Fast read. You won't want to make friends with any of the main characters. Maybe humans can visit the Denebs next time? #bookreview #scifi
