Alan's Lawnmower will be hosting a free information Lunch and demonstration in early April at the Newport Civic Center to introduce the Husqvarna Robotic Automower to commercial landscapers or government agencies.
We have already installed this in a large commercial setting on site as well as a high end residential property. Both customers and landscaper are very happy. In this class we will share the what, why and how Automower could be a valuable part of your business.
Topics include: The robotic mowing concept, Automower® installation theory, An overview of the Automower® product range, Competitive comparisons, Market dynamics,
Sales strategies. Here are a couple highlights for you to consider:

1. Labor Cost Continue to Skyrocket: as much as 50% in CA is slated to increase over the next few years. The robotic mower eliminates those costs associated with labor (workers comp, paid time off, medical benefits, employment tax etc...) and optimizes your productivity as it is designed to run autonomously 24/7.
2. Water Conservation and Environmental Friendliness = Premium Value: The automower advantage is a perfectly manicured, healthier, greener, carpet smooth grass 100% of the time. The grass never gets long because it is cut everyday (or
as scheduled). Consequently the lawn will need less watering. No cross contamination of weeds or disease. Zero emissions. and whisper quiet. Package this mower with other commercial battery products and advertise as a completely eco-friendly service for an edge over the competition.
3. Merit Based Contracts: Commercial Landscapers are awarded more on the skilled labor that pays on quality of execution. (edging, hedge trimming, etc.…). The automower is designed to help commercial landscapers reallocate their
workers to the more detail work.
4. Traditional Mowers are expensive: Cost of ownership/ maintenance work on conventional mowers are much higher than the automower. No fuel or oil costs, no tune-ups, almost no maintenance costs, and less fertilizer needed.
5. Superior Quality Cut Lawns: Healthier greener grass, because more frequent cutting is less damaging to the grass, micro-cut mulching means less need for fertilizer.
6. Safety is of upmost importance: reduced liability is the name of the game in the commercial world. The automower is SAFE. the blades are centrifugal so they retract if they encounter anything harder than a blade of grass. The blades also
stop if unit is lifted. No more damage to windows or cars from thrown rocks either.
7. Security: Unit is monitored via phone app and GPS tracked. You are also notified immediately if the unit is tampered with. If the unit is lifted it sets off an alarm and if the unit leaves the premises the lo-jack is activated and police can just go pick it
up. The on-board computer is registered to you alone so if taken no one else can even use it.
There are more compelling reasons how this can become an integral part of your fleet operation and we would be happy to share those with you. Please RSVP so we can hold your spot.

Emergency Generator Backup information.
There are 2 ways to connect a generator to your home for backup power. The first is to run an extension chord from the generator to any appliance or light that you want to power. This is easiest in terms of install since there is no electrical hookup but less convenient when you want to use the power because you have to run extension chords. The second way is to have an electrician install a power transfer switch at your breaker box. This removes you home from the power grid and transfers it to the generator for power. Typically you would select which breakers you want powered and then anything on that breaker switch gets power. To run your entire house would likely take a very large generator perhaps as much as 10,000 watts or more. Since this is for emergency use most people opt to power the circuit for the refrigerator, lights for select rooms and plugs for select rooms. Perhaps a microwave. If you use power management strategies you can run more without overloading the generator. For example, don't use the microwave at the same time as the hair dryer. Certain items like Air conditioning take a large amount of power and would typically not be used during an emergency. If you must then consider a single room AC unit that can be plugged into the wall during an outage if needed. For this second option there are a variety of power transfer switches available depending on how many circuits(breaker switches) you want to power. There are also models that have digital management, battery back up and surge prevention (see the APC models for this). For more information see this website.

Echo Bearcat is giving away a chainsaw with purchase of 3" chipper. What a great time to start reducing and reusing by mulching those unwanted tree limbs.
