Jerry Freeman, CEO

A native of Oklahoma, Jerry received his Bachelors in Environmental Design (BSED) from the University of Oklahoma. During his tenure there, he was able to study abroad for a year at the Architectural Association in London, focusing on Low Income Housing.

Jerry began his career as an architect and designer, with Gensler, the world’s largest design firm, as one of the youngest project architects. While at Gensler, he won their prestigious international in-house design competition. Jerry then moved to a start up design firm, Lehman Smith McLeish. After a few years he moved to another start up design firm Core Group, now Core. Specializing in law firms across the nation, Jerry has won more than two dozen design and construction awards for excellence and quality from the professional design organizations IIDA and AIA.

In 1995, Jerry was approached by the VP of National Sales of Invision Carpet System to assist in launching of the three month old company. Within his position as Territory Manager in Ohio and then in Chicago, he was a key component in generating sales for a company that went from no sales to 10 million in 3 years. In addition to his sales responsibilities, he was instrumental in the development of new carpets for the product line.

Due to Jerry’s outstanding success at Invision, he was asked to develop a Chicago based sales force for another new carpet mill, Constantine. Due to Jerry’s previous successes and his background in design, he was again asked to assist in developing new carpets for a product line that focused on a higher-end of commercial corporate and retail design projects. Jerry was in the top 5% of salesmen for this company, generating over $15 million dollars in sales over a six year period.

Jerry was then recruited by Lees Carpets. At Lees, Jerry was again asked to develop a new sales team, and as Team Leader, to turn around sales for the Chicago/Midwest Region of the Lees division of Mohawk carpets. The team moved from $5.9 to $9m in just a couple of years, when Jerry was then moved over to the Karastan team as Team leader.

With fifteen years of sales experience and developing product for other companies, Jerry saw a need in the architectural and design community for a company that was able to provide high quality and coordinating flooring products in one location. Jerry created the Attune line of high-end sustainable hard surface products. Out of Attune, PaletteApp was
born.

Having been so involved and in the design community, and with relationships with designers and architects in the A & D community, Jerry saw a need for a program that permitted architects and designers to find all of the products needed to develop palettes, and order all the samples needed for their projects. The PaletteApp™ beta website was launched in December 2011 and the full site was launched on June 11 2012, and it has generated a lot of excitement. PaletteApp™ has become the go-to site for many architects and designers for all of their specification needs. PaletteApp™ permits the architects and designers who use it to create palettes within a matter of minutes, instead of hours, saving them several billable hours. PaletteApp™, within the first few weeks of its launch, had over 40,000 page views. PaletteApp™ is on track to impact the A & D community as much as CAD did when it was launched.
