Hi Niantic, I was recently inspired by the board game Pandemic for adding a third member to the virus family.  In Pandemic, there is a mechanism at play, where if one city gets infected, it spreads to other cities.  I'm wondering if you've considered something similar for a new type of virus.  This new virus, when deployed, does two things: 1) set the portal to neutral, stripping it of everything, and 2), SPREADS the infection and causes connected portals to go neutral, and any portals connected to them to go neutral and so forth.

For the second action, however, this could get out of hand and you could place some user/portal level resistance to limit the spread, etc.  High level anchors with lots of low level portals connected to it could spread the infection further than low level anchors connected to a higher level ones, as those higher levels can resist more.

This hopefully the proper forum to make this suggestion and look forward to playing Ingress a long time regardless. :)

Had to share this Star Wars vs. Star Trek smackdown.
Apparently only my followers saw this post. I've now corrected it.

My original post was:

"Did you see what little Carrie Fisher did? She responded to my video on Star Wars. Should I reply to her? My best, Bill"
