***Solstice's parent company, Essex Property Trust (NYSE: ESS), has recently had a breach in security of personal sensitive data, both of their employees and of Solstice's residents, to cyber attacks where information was obtained by hackers. This is not considered in the rating I provided.*** Location: 4/5 Right next to Murphy Ave, Target down the street, a ghetto Macys if you need anything simple, CalTrain right next door. Unfortunately also right next to some larger office buildings (broadcom, apple, nokia, USPS, etc) and these employees speed past the residential area with little regard for stop signs Amenities: 3/5 Solstice tried to have a really nice setting, and for the most part they did. However, there are just not enough resources to serve all of their residents. 2 grills, 2 spas and a small pool do not provide enough room for everyone who wants to use them during peak hours. I dont know about everyone else, but I like to have dinner between 5 and 7pm - good luck getting a grill. If you want to print anything from the community 'work space' room - half the time the printer is down (but generally the leasing office has no problem doing it for you - i just hate asking others to do something I am perfectly capable of doing myself). The apartment has nice counters and stove (beware, hard to clean). Everything stainless steel. Toilets are powerful, you wont have a problem with clogs. These are nice features and the rest of the apartment is exactly what you'd expect from a new building. Value: 2/5 The price to live here is too great for what you're getting. Walls are paper thin, I can hear the guy upstairs drop his toilet seat every night. Neighbors constantly slam windows because the window latches are a pain to close. A bench is directly outside my window where the smokers go, so it almost requires me to keep my windows closed - not planned very well. Another review mentioned construction, a large portion of that is out of Solstice's control as it is their neighbors - however, every day of the week except Sunday, I hear drills and hammers from the other side of the building where Solstice has store fronts. This starts promptly at 8am and lasts throughout the day. If you are a physician or anyone working midnights, DO NOT live here. I often feel like I am just a guest in this complex, hard to feel like its your own when you cant even sleep in on a Saturday morning. The size of the unit vs the cost is consistent with the rest of the area - maybe a little more since it is a new building. Edit: the building's external alarm goes off all the time right next to our window - usually late afternoon on weekdays - this edit brought to you by: the alarm Staff: 4/5 They're really nice. Sometimes forgetful - I noticed the ones that write notes down while you're speaking with them - those are the ones I like most :) One time had a surprise package from family in Chicago with pizza in it, box clearly read 'refrigerate immediately,' nobody reached out to me to let me know that it was there, so by the time we discovered it, the dry ice had melted and the pizza was no good. We have packages sent to the leasing office because we've had issues of theft from our door. Overall: 3/5 It's alright living here. I would probably prefer to live elsewhere given this place's price-point and what you're getting. It is not by any means horrible - but there are certainly better options out there.

Hilton Diamond Member, staying at Hilton brand hotels for 100+ days / year - first negative review I have ever left. Got a 2 queen room here, hair all over both beds (and I mean A LOT OF IT), stains - bed worn out, squeaky and uncomfortable. Wind howls all night through horribly poor windows, walls paper thin. Bathroom the size of my closet at home. Bathroom counter top has old toothpaste stains still on it. Just got bitten on my leg from something, no idea what it was. STAY AWAY.
