fantastic news!

"Though the ruling was limited to physical intrusions, the opinions in the case collectively suggested that a majority of the justices are prepared to apply broad Fourth Amendment privacy principles unrelated to such intrusions to an array of modern technologies, including video surveillance in public places, automatic toll collection systems on highways, devices that allow motorists to signal for roadside assistance and records kept by online merchants."

Seriously. I go on most websites for one thing only: info. Not interactivity. Unless that's the point of your website. If I can't easily find that info (i.e. your location/menu/hours), then you've failed as a website.

fair point. then again, there may be something to be said for those entrenched companies returning to more of a focus on products. :)

agreed - disappointing, but probably the right choice.

I see your point - she could definitely be a strong leader for a consumer advocacy/watchdog group or some sort of research org (though the Rs would refuse to take her seriously). But I like the idea of a strong consumer advocate in the Senate, and the MA seat would be an easier one from which to break party ranks. Of course, she would be one out of a hundred, and she'd have the same problem with the Rs there...

whether or not you agree with Nate Silver's conclusions, it's hard not to be impressed with a post like this.
