Not entirely true. Folks are coming over from Facebook because it's becoming unmanageable. Since Google+ doesn't have nearly the same active user base, it's populated by an interesting cross-section of tech enthusiasts and those searching for social networking alternatives.

I agree with Jason: DOWN WITH ORKUT! UP WITH GOOGLE+!

Totes Hangouts FTW. We use it every week to record the podcast for +Gaymism
and it's been a breeze since we switched from #Skype. I believe it supports up to 10 video streams. And now you can trigger live sound effects for a well-timed foghorn when a joke falls flat.

Who ever used Orkut or Currents? And has Wave fallen off the edge of the interwebs?

I was an early adherent of Wave, but I think it was usurped by the integration of live collaborative editing into Google Docs...erp, I mean Google DRIVE. Also, remember Google Buzz?

Wave was killed about this time last year. Personally, I loved it, but it was way too complicated for everyday users.

Buzz, on the other hand, was TERRIBLE.

Google uses tech like jokes in an Elvira movie. Throw a hundred of them out there and a few will hit.
