Tracy Bross is of a rare breed. In a city of 8 million, the tall blonde is one of a handful of people born and raised in Manhattan. Just after college, Bross took a job that many graduates would kill for. She started working for Ralph Lauren. Then when she started out on her own 18 years ago, Tracy Bross established a precedent most people in her industry don't do. She said yes to almost every project. Some days she was styling photo shoots as a freelancer for Ralph Lauren Home and other days she was working on far less grandiose projects. "I checked my ego at the door a long time ago," says Bross who designs for her clients and their lifestyles, regardless of what that lifestyle costs. Two decades later, see why the bi-coastal designer jokes that she's Mecox L.A.'s biggest customer, and one of our favorite designers to work with. She is as passionate about every one of these endeavors and how each relates to reforming the idea of the modern home, and the way that modern families dwell in them. For the past 27 years, Terry Elkins has lived and worked in a barn just north of NY 27. But Elkins isn’t a farmer. He’s one of the Hamptons’ most likeable resident artists. Elkins doesn’t normally open his home to the public. In fact, in nearly three decades he’s only had one open house, or perhaps better put, open studio. But November 14 from 5-7 pm, Elkins is teaming up with Mecox to host a special event that will give collectors and the local community an exclusive look at his home, and more than 50 paintings—many of which have yet to be seen in public due to their sheer size. Mark your calendar now!
