Doctors, residents and nurses are amazing. Administrative staff can come off as rude and inconsiderate. It is so aggravating getting your family medical leave act and short term disability paperwork completed. Try to get as much done by your Primary Care Physician as possible that way you don't have to deal with Hopkins outside of your surgery. Also, their cafeteria and cafe are closed on the weekends. So order alot on Friday. Once you have their food, you won't want anything else. It's delicious.

My uncle had very complicated head and neck cancer surgery performed here and I thought the doctors were incredible. They were emphathetic, sincere, and very astute. We felt like we were in good hands during the 6 months that we stayed in Baltimore. The support staff were also very helpful in helping us to find a place to stay, and took care of most of the issues with our insurance company, which really helped because we were not in any shape to go through all of that by ourselves. We are truly grateful for the care and dedication of the hospital.

Be aware ask how much you will be paying before you even enter the hospital -------------------------------------------- i had been to john Hopkins for a doctors consultation, i was scheduled for doctors appointment in the hospital, over all the the appointment was just 15 minutes. I get huge doctors bill which i never paid ever even for the doctors who did a c-section. And later i get one more more bill from the hospital for the facilities. No doubt doctor is well versed and was good and a true specialist. everyday recorded message bugging me at 4:30 PM to pay your bill, i didn't get a hospital bill and they sent it directly to collections and they threaten that they will report to the credit if i don't pay at once. This makes people even sick when they are already not blaming anyone, just be careful and ask them what you will pay before you go to the hospital.Lessons learned for me too

The bariatric program at Bayview has an unbelievable problem with communicating. They absolutely do not return any phone calls whatsoever. If you get through to a voicemail, it just tells you to email them, and when you do, those never EVER get returned. The one phone call that ALWAYS gets returned is the person who signs up new patients. They love keeping that money coming in, but once they have you, they could care less. I have no clue why they tout their status as #1, as they are actually worse than other hospitals with regards to communications and customer service. Buyer beware...

I have so many complaints i'm not even sure where to start. My husband had to go in because he has been having massive headaches and he was refereed here because it is suppose to be the best as far as this is concerned. After being on the phone for over a hour and being transferred to about five different people I was able to make an appointment that was for a month away. With this huge hospital you would figure they could find a closer time for him to come in. I just think they wanted him to come into the er spend about 700 dollars and then see him. Anyway after he gets a headache with them trying to say he can't use his insurance and wanting him to pay 200 dollars out of pocket just so the doctor can ask a bunch of questions saying "Yes, it seems like you have some issues." No duh , we would not have come here if our primary doctor didn't feel it was necessary. I swear by the end of the day I though my husband he was going to explode from the frustration this stupid doctor gave us. Well he tells us that he will need surgery and that it should help with the headaches. We go in to get this done and the Or area was a mess. I was so afraid for my husband and I worry that even now while he is recovering something might have gone wrong. Its cost almost 5000 dollars if not more to get this done and he's been home for a month and it seems like their is no chance. I swear to god Hopkins! A side note is that I have a few friends that work in the hospital and they warned me about going here. They themselves would never put their life in the hands of this place. Not only are the doctors jerks and see you nothing more as a number a lot of the nurses are horrible people to the visors and to the other workers. I mean I saw a nurse yelling at one of the housekeepers because of something she could have done herself! Are your serious?? Are you telling me that you can't change a toilet paper dispenser and have to call for a housekeeper to do it? Are you that stuck up that something you would do in your home you refuse to do at work because you don't get paid to do it. And that is why I gave the Housekeeper my tip and told the nurse to piss off. I just hope that things turn out well for my husband and he just needs more time. I will never let him set foot in there again. If I ever get in trouble and the people want to take me here I would scream at them to take me somewhere else. It was just horrible for me. NEVER AGAIN!

I had a pretty invasive surgery at Hopkins with surgeon Dr Julie Freischlag, first rib resection and scalenectomy on left side to treat Thoracic Outlet Syndrome with arterial compression. I was treated like dirt by the surgeon when I expressed concerns with being discharged only 24hrs of my surgery while still in pain. She proceeded to come into my room alone in the evening, insult me and argue with me regarding various issues without a witness present. Completely unprofessional and although my surgery seems to have given me improvement in my issue I would never return to this surgeon or the hospital at all. When I made a formal complaint, I received a letter stating incorrect information and was blown off. I am in disbelief how a hospital and surgeon of this stature can treat patients this way. I hope to at least get the word out there to warn future patients. I am available for questions if you are going to be treated here and would like to know more details of my incident.

The Johns Hopkins Hospital hasn't shared anything with you.

People are more likely to share with you if you add them to your circles.
