One Year Anniversary!

Five years ago a vision was born to have a place where community, massage and education came together. How can we use this platform to incite change, make this wonderful service accessible, and serve as ambassadors to increase the use of massage as a viable tool for medicine? Thus the Myo Clinic was born. Massage for People was our motto.

As of last June we have since evolved into a place where community, education and medicine come together. Alchemy turns one in a couple of weeks, but Alchemy was built on The Myo Clinic. The Myo Clinic lives on as part of the adventure based on an organic way of engaging a community. We now include Counseling, Acupuncture, Alexander technique, and as well as Massage. Massage is now part of a greater umbrella called Manual Medicine, which includes Myofascial, digestive, organ and nerve work. We are filling the gaps in medicine where after critical care and annual checkups, people are left on their own to navigate the world of wellness and healthcare.

Our bedrock is our commitment to the community. It's as simple as this.

When our local friendly police and sheriff, firemen and EMT are done with their rounds, we want to help their bodies heal faster and reorganize their nervous system after the hard realities of their respective work. When they are roasted from all year long of showing up day after day, we want to let them know we are here. We can unite with them to help to unwind and refocus.

We expanded this idea to teachers and social workers. Which led us to foster moms, the unsung heros. I met one who had been with over 150 kids who needed a home for 24 hours to 2 years. Her role was stressful, and so important.

When this thread kept going, we were called into care for elderly, mothers and children, and the impoverished and homeless.

The one statistic that describes how this team has literally been working for not just their professional growth but for their personal ones.We have donated 3000 hours to our community in less than five years. That total represents 3 full time years worth in hours, This means so much to us.

Our team takes their respective crafts very seriously and are true professionals. Through education we have an opportunity to become unique in our skills. It is how we gain knowledge. Practicing what we learn increases our knowledge base. In a beautiful circle, when we return to educate ourselves , we can increase our knowledge exponentially. At Alchemy, we have created access to education, and every therapist has grown. This allows us to be true to our personal craft, to grow during every session and to stay aware for the subtle changes that truly make the difference between a good session and one that leaves us in an amazing state. This enriches us as human beings, which shows up everywhere, including our work.

Our goal is to run a sustainable business model that nurtures all that involve themselves in Alchemy. As professionals alike, we inspire a space for our therapists to have purpose, abundance and a transcendent career. For our clients, we seek the Quantum leap of self healing with our guidance. The science of our medicine helps to organize the logistics of our sessions to improve health. The art of our medicine has less form and is conditional on the person involved at that precise moment. We are part of the journey of life. We are perfect exactly as we are. Consciousness through a mindfulness practice can be as effective for back pain as any therapy known to man.

Alchemy blends these two worlds together. We thank you for trusting us with your bodies and minds. By supporting us, you help us to support our village.

New Class on February 27th 9-5
Explore the Rib Cage and its impact on Breathing and the body

We take over 20,000 breaths per day; even the smallest changes in breath efficiency are extremely beneficial.

In this class we will learn:
• How to assess & release long held tension patterns through breath, movement & touch. By following our breathing patterns, we can follow what moves and what doesn’t, and see how this may impact our lives.
• What restricted rib motion feels like, and assess whether these restrictions are connective tissue, pain, postural and/or emotional.

This class will bring many influences together. We will explore "myofascial meridians" based on the work of Tom Myers, Yogic Breathing, meditation, and build our awareness through movement.

We will cover the:
• Impact of Rib Cage on our Physical, mental & emotional states.
• Postural and Gait assessment, and explore the three parts of the Rib Cage
• Myofascial Therapy, including several fascial assessment and release techniques that anyone can learn and use immediately.

I am grateful for the opportunity to share with you what I have learned so that we may spread the benefits from the techniques that have brought me success and joy. I look forward to seeing you there!

Cost: $140

Call 828 773-0545 or email us at eli@massageforpeople.com

This class will be worth 7 CEU’s for licensed Massage Therapists.

The Myo Clinic & Eli Peltz are an Approved Continuing Education Provider(#242) with the NCBTMB.

Lets face it folks, we are working harder than ever, for less pay, more stress and everything around us (law enforcement /healthcare /immigration /race relations/hunger & poverty) seems in flux; we are a scattered, tattered and polarized community.
Here at the clinic, we are "fighting" (gently and soulfully) to bring our community together. The idea is based on social justice meeting capitalism. How?
We aim to serve and unite our community through our clinic by increasing access to therapies for those in high risk and/or high stress positions of service. Teachers, Social Workers, EMT, Firemen, Police, Veterans are one part of that commitment. We also volunteer our time to homeless and food shelters, senior homes, and foster parents. We have donated over 1000 of community service in the past 3 years.
To succeed in Massage Therapy you need skills. Our organization is accredited nationally to teach continuing education classes to licensed therapists. Our therapists receive 48 classroom hours of massage training in every year in Myofascial Therapy to enhance their understanding of body tissue & to increase practitioner’s body and mind awareness to deliver a session best suited to your needs.
We teach “Manual Medicine” touch techniques such as Myofascial Release & Deep Tissue, as well as Posture & Gait Analysis.
We also include Ethics classes and process groups led by Vicki Peltz LPCA, who is our Counselor at The Myo Clinic.
Vicki also leads our Yoga Therapy program, designed to give our Clients an opportunity to have a personalized Yoga experience to increase overall wellbeing.
We offer Clinic Massage at our office at 240 Hwy 105 Ext in Boone for $70 per hour. We have a sliding scale to help those who need it. Visit our website at Myoclinic.net to book an appointment.

Hey Everyone!
To those whom we have recently seen and those we haven’t seen in a while, thank you for your support and trusting us with your health.  We are growing, in experience and in size…we have been excited to find ways to merge and share our skills and to expand our offerings. We are creating private yoga programs as well as small group yoga geared toward specific issues.  We have a body-centered mental health therapist on staff to help acknowledge emotional experiences.

As we are cultivating these new ventures, we just wanted to remind you all to come back in for a massage, what you know us best by, and we’d like to let you know about our referral program.  If you refer a person to us and they come in for a massage, we will give you a one hour massage session for $45, which is $25 off our full one hour rate.

You can now schedule online for appointments on our website at Myoclinic.net.

Or call 828-406-7060 to book an appointment for clinic massage.

Thank You,
The Myo Team

Creating space in the physical body creates space emotionally, and spiritually as well. It is an unmistakable phenomena when people leave a great bodywork session to breathe easier, feel taller and move with more ease.

I have roots in the NYC fire dept, & as a child growing up there I was able to hang out in the Fire Station in Harlem on 124st and 3rd ave. They were my heroes, I looked up to them (literally) When they invited me to go on a small fire run in a firetruck, I was starstruck. It was all fun and games for a 9,10 & 11 year old boy.
14 Years ago, my heroes came face to face with the worst tragedy they had ever seen. All of us NY'ers, and a nation as a whole, were united that day. I see a lot of people saying never forget. How can we forget? Those of us who have seen it, played over and over again, can never remove those images from our minds and hearts. To all our brave men and women, both in uniform and civilian who lost their lives that day, we remember and pray for peace.
My motivation for the existence of the Myo Clinic began with how we can unite our community to support people in service, particularly high risk, high stress service. Say what you want about Police, but are we doing all we can as a community to support them? Or Firemen? Soldiers? Vets? Teachers? Social Workers? Plain and simple, they need our help. We can do more, give more.
I have this dream that access to massage, counseling, and yoga is a perk and a normal of their job. Why? Imagine what it would look like if as a community we said thanks by making sure they were taking care of ? Our town would sure have a different feel. More trust, more compassion. This is to me the big message going forward from 9/11. What do we do on 9/12?
