If you’re like me, you probably often feel guilty when you’re not busy. We all need help—and we’ll get it.

"There is nothing so great I can do to make God love me more."
Today 20 percent or more Americans consider themselves religiously unaffiliated, including a third or more U.S. adults under the age of 30.

Someone says, “You know, God will never give you more than you can handle.” And you wonder, can that be right?

We live in a culture in which sexual boundaries are pushed in every direction, in which supposedly universal standards are neither universal nor consistent.

You love God. And He must want you to stay at your church, right? Maybe not...

An additional "signal" should include the exclusion of people with disabilities.

The obvious interpretation of this would include places where the wheelchair-bound must sit to the side or in a separate room. I'm also talking about "disabilities" such as these:

* Introversion. I don't want to sign a book saying I was there. I don't want contact from the pastor or anyone else. I don't want these people to know my address, phone number, or email address until I'm ready! It's the flip-side of #7 in the article.

* Panic/anxiety disorder. The adrenaline rush of loud music might be "exciting" for some, but for those of us with one of these disorders, it's torture. I'll attend a service armed with 32dB-rated earplugs, and I'll still leave grouchy and hurting, not excited and healed. Don't push me out the door with the concussive booms of your kick drums or bass guitar, either!
Here are ten ways churches signal newcomers that they are not wanted.

Great doctors, nurses, and staff. Unlike way too many other medical facilities, these people care. Yes, they are often busy, but they do their best.

My wife had just finished a procedure at nearby Moffitt Cancer Center when our battery failed to start our Dodge Grand Caravan. After a jump start we had to decide where to take it. Having had good experience with a Goodyear shop in our home town of Melbourne (on the opposite side of Florida), and after reading the reviews here, we chose McGee; it was also convenient to get to from our hotel. They checked out everything and determined it was just the battery, not the cables or anything else. I also asked them to do an oil change. They told me the water pump was beginning to seep, but that it should get us back home, which it did. Everyone there was pleasant on that early Saturday morning, and the job was done quickly. I'm very thankful for McGee.

The staff was very pleasant, and the rooms were clean. I wasn't a big fan of the bed pillows, which looked like a mixture of double-bed and throw pillows; on a king-size bed, it made for poor support. The room we were in was also quite narrow, with the desk and a roll-away table underneath it right next to the bed. We were staying there while my wife was undergoing tests at Moffitt Cancer Center, so the extra stress involved wasn't pleasant.

Great staff and service. Brittany, Raven, and all the others made us feel right at home while we were over there for tests at Moffitt. The one problem we had was that I suspect one of their items didn't agree with me at all, but the manager didn't seem too concerned.
