Hey guys, just saw the post on hollow limb design bows. It's amazing how things work out. I just finished up a similar type of bow today!

I've made a couple like that before, but unless you use a very thick pipe, you end up with a very light bow. Here are some pics of one I built today. They aren't as stable as tapered bows, but they certainly look cool. I know one of you guys can figure out how to make it better.

The bow draws about 5-10 pounds on its own, the 5/16" fiberglass rod runs all the way through the handle, limbs, tips and reinforce both nocks from the inside. With the rod, it draws 35 pounds at 28" and started out as a 48" length of 1" schedule 40 pipe. The limb wraps are to keep the rod in place when the bow is strung and shot. It's a really nice bow, but it is a little unstable and requires some guidance when shooting.

The hollow handle bows are nice because you can stick a couple of arrows in them if the curves are not too extreme.
