I think what some folks might be reacting negatively toward is the vagueness of this new post; you're saying there's a factual error, but you're not really giving anyone an idea of what it might be. Even if you explain it at length in another forum, you should probably at least give everyone a general idea of where you might have made a mistake. As it stands, tensions are high around this topic, and I'm sure you must realize that your previous posting has given a lot of people cause for concern; taking the post down after the allegations you've made and saying "Oh, we made a mistake... Stay tuned!" is not gonna cut it.

No worries I've seen SCG pull down a vid b4 because of factual erancies (mind you only once b4) my point is he addressed all pertinent questions once he more fully researched the issue and I am sure he will do so once again

System is, at best, preparation or practice. We shouldn't take it too seriously, since real life circumstances never conform to the parameters of our system. When the time comes for us to act, the framework of the system will, and should be, forgotten in favor of natural expression.

While that was a sucker punch, the dude in the wing chun shirt did put his hands on him at 1:58. I'm just saying: if you're gonna step up like that, be prepared. I hope this guy learned a lesson.

How can Form manifest if there is no Emptiness? How can the Way function if there is no surrender to the Void? #zazen #thoughts

Training doesn’t give us anything; potential either exists, or it doesn’t. Training simply makes us more efficient in the use of our potential, our innate abilities.

Don't try to act in accordance with the system's rules in the moment; if it's truly effective, it will manifest naturally. Whatever works will stay with you and, if necessary, evolve, while anything that doesn't will be forgotten or replaced.

It’s useless to think of things in terms of schooling or “style.” When the time comes to act, we simply do what we do. Even if we apply things that we’ve learned, in the moment we should still act with naturalness. If, however, our actions are the result of ideas or rules laid down by a system, then we are no longer acting with naturalness or freedom.

Martial arts is a skilled physical and mental reaction to threats of bodily harm; it’s not just fighting. Fighting, along with fleeing, is a natural reaction to a threat, grounded in emotional responses like fear and anger. The martial arts seek to train the individual to respond to all threats with skill and proficiency, as opposed to raw emotion. In the midst of combat, the martial artist stands in the space between rational thought and instinct- on the border between Heaven and Hell- and awakens to the purity of True Life.

Over-anxious young boxers... I often wonder if young samurai were the same way once upon a time.

Violence is an undisciplined response to distress, the same as fear. #boxing #martialarts
