Ive been there for quite awhile and I'm counting the days till my contract is up. The Head instructor Steve bad mouths students and does that thing that young girls do when they cover their mouth in the direction of the person they are bad mouthing. Its very unprofessional. Sleazy sales tactics and an insincere elitist attitude prevails. If you are not one of "the Boys" they let you know. I will be switching schools ASAP

I want to thank the Relson Gracie Jiu-Jitsu Academy for everything. The instruction is top notch, the academy is clean, there is plenty of mat space, and you feel welcome from day one. If you are looking for an academy in the south metro area make sure you stop by RGJJ. One thing I appreciate probably above everything else is the focus on self defense at the Relson Gracie Jiu Jitsu Academy. Other academies I’ve been to are more sport jiu jitsu focused, but at RGJJ not only do you get the fun of training jiu-jitsu but you are prepared in the event a situation should arise where you have to protect yourself or your family. Lastly I want to say thank you to the RGJJ family for the flexibility and understanding they provided me in deciding to put my training on hold. When I start training again I will be right back at the Relson Gracie Jiu Jitsu Academy.

I've been training BJJ for 10 yrs now and have trained with many different Academies, many different affiliations. The thing that sets Professor Steve apart from others is his dedication to improving the martial art of Jiu-Jitsu, not simply getting better at it. He is a guardian of pure Gracie Jiu-Jitsu, and a natural bi-product of that responsibility is growth in technique, instruction and character. I recommend Relson Gracie Littleton to anyone who is interested in the fascinating world of Jiu-Jitsu, whether for self-defense, competition or casual study.

I first want to say that I have been training in BJJ and MMA for years, have trained with a lot of people, and I will say that Steve Hordinski is the best BJJ instructor I have ever had the chance to train with. That is in no way a knock on anyone I previously have trained with, but a compliment to Steve, he is that good at teaching BJJ. To be a good instructor not only do you have to be good at BJJ, but you have to be able to teach. As someone who was working towards my masters in education I can say that Steve knows how to teach. A lot of my teammates who have posted reviews have spoken to the family atmosphere we have at the gym, and I have a personal experience that should let anyone reading this know what we are saying is in fact the truth. I have been fighting cancer since 11/12/2010, so I had to stop training where I had been before that. About 5 months ago I told Steve what was going on as far as my health goes and he has supported me 100% in my goal to not only be on the mat again, and even compete again. For that I will never be able to thank him enough. What was really amazing is from the first day I was there I was treated like a brother. My teammates there have done everything from offer to take me to doctors appointments, make me dinners, and are just there to pick me up if I am feeling sick or something like that. So what people are saying about the atmosphere as far as being friends and family is 100% true. If that is something you are looking for in BJJ look no further from here. Steve teaches pure Gracie Jiu Jitsu in the way Helio Gracie intended it to be taught. The success that we are having can be found in the amount of medals and trophies we take home at every grappling tournament we enter, and the fact that there are about 200 students just at the Littleton location alone (we have 4 gyms in the greater Denver area). We are an elite team, have the best coaches, and the closest knit team of any team I have ever been a part of. Thanks, Jason Miller

I started looking for a Brazilian JiuJitsu academy for my 6 year old daughter around a year ago. As you can imagine, I was pretty picky about where I was going to be comfortable sending her, so we audited classes at several places before deciding to give Relson Gracie Colorado a try out. They were great about letting her try out a few classes, and I could tell we were on to something when she was begging me to go back the next day. I watched her classes every day, and I was blown away at the interactions between the coaches and the kids. Each coach brings something different to the table and connects with the kids in different ways depending on what they need. From serious detailed technique to silly fun and games, my daughter was engaged like I rarely see her. It’s a year later, and she still gets mad at me when I don’t take her to class. It’s really a second home to her. The other thing that happened as a result of the atmosphere was that I signed up for adult classes a couple of months into her time there. The relaxed and ego free environment there made me comfortable stepping on the mats, and I haven’t looked back. Like the kids classes, the compliment of instructors is amazing and each provides a slightly different take and style in teaching. Most importantly, they all engage directly with all of the students every class. Any questions are answered in detail and techniques are reviewed and drilled until you get it. They even spend the extra time to show me some simply modifications for a stocky guy that can’t pull off everything that gets put in front of me, though over time I’m rapidly learning that with the right technique, you can do far more than you ever thought. Apparently, I wasn’t the only parent that went through this as there a many dads and moms now in the adult class that runs after the kids class each day. We train, and our kids hang out together and play or do homework. They have all become great friends, and the whole place really feels like a family to us now. If you’re looking for the Cobra Kai with a glaring instructor that will kick you off the matt for missing a technique on your first try, look elsewhere. If you’re looking for amazing quality of training in a relaxed, family like environment, give these guys a shot. Odds are you’ll get sucked in and we’ll be seeing you there a lot.
