A new infographic I've put together to help people decide whether the TFSA or RRSP is better for them: http://www.holypotato.net/?p=1403

Were you interested in the Value of Simple but thought it was slightly too expensive? The paperback is now just $15.25 at Amazon!

Or if you prefer to use the library, it's coming soon to the Toronto Public Library (it's in the catalogue now so you can place your holds, but expect it to be another few weeks for the copies to actually arrive on shelves). http://goo.gl/q61gKX

I know us authors are always hounding you to take the time to review, but now I have another reason for doing it: the emerging writer award will be determined not just by the book itself, but by the reviews, ratings, and engagement of its readers. So this request comes with a deadline -- if you've read the Value of Simple, especially if you've read it through Kobo, please take a moment to give it a star rating and write a short review over at Kobo this week.

And yes, your review is important and meaningful! The top-reviewed book only has 14 reviews, so every one counts!

The emerging writer short-list will be released in just over a week, and I would love it if you could help me and The Value of Simple get on it.

Thanks in advance;

I've uploaded a re-creation of the Money 201 presentation from February -- at least my part of it -- which I hope will be helpful to some of you out there.

And that led to a crazy idea: should I put together a full course along these lines? There's a lot of material out there in books, on blogs, and scattered on the YouTube. But if you want a coherent course as a starting point, you pretty much have to get down to Toronto to take one. Is it something you would be interested in? If you had to pay to enrol?

The Canonical Portfolio: finding consensus and simplicity for a basic indexing strategy that will work for most, trying to remove as much complexity and sources of confusion as possible. Not even two weeks after posting, and Dan Bortolotti brings the CCP model portfolios in line!

Getting started as a new index investor will be a lot less confusing now.

A review and give-away of the Value of Simple!

"Most investing books back away from the details Robertson takes on. This is mainly because these details are untidy and make the whole topic of investing more complex. But this is a big part of Robertson’s point. You need to start with a simple strategy..."
