Country gospel songs are among the most iconic gospel melodies, and the most beloved by fans of the genre. Country gospel is often called “Christian gospel,” and while that description is certainly accurate, country gospel has its own unique sound. You’ll find some of the most traditional gospel songs on this list – but they’ve been redone and reworked by some well-known country music artists.
Some of the most famous country gospel songs are incredibly inspirational, including hymns such as “I’ll Fly Away” and “Amazing Grace.” Both long-standing gospel mainstays have been given a country twist by famous artists and bands like The Gatlin Brothers, Lee Greenwood, and even Johnny Cash and Merle Haggard. Both Cash and Haggard recorded several gospel songs in their time, and they are timeless examples of good country gospel songs.

You’ll find several modern era country artists on this list, too, performing traditional country gospel songs. Is there any doubt that Vince Gill’s soul-stirring “Go Rest High on that Mountain” is one of the top country gospel songs of all time?

But when she enters the rickety mansion to seek her claim, she is frightened away by a wicked wave of ghosts. Determined to get her hands on this hidden fortune, she hires afterlife therapist Dr. James Harvey to exorcise the ghosts from the mansion. Harvey and his daughter Kat move in, and soon Kat meets Casper, the ghost of a young boy who's "the friendliest ghost you know." But not so friendly are Casper's uncles--Stretch, Fatso and Stinkie--who are determined to drive all "fleshies" away. Ultimately, it is up to Harvey and Kat to help the ghosts cross over to the other side. View at: http://ccmrministries.org/2018/02/10/casper-1995

Ernest Dale Tubb (February 9, 1914 – September 6, 1984), nicknamed the Texas Troubadour, was an American singer and songwriter and one of the pioneers of country music. His biggest career hit song, “Walking the Floor Over You” (1941), marked the rise of the honky tonk style of music.[1] In 1948, he was the first singer to record a hit version of “Blue Christmas”, a song more commonly associated with Elvis Presley and his mid-1950s version. Another well-known Tubb hit was “Waltz Across Texas” (1965), which became one of his most requested songs and is often used in dance halls throughout Texas during waltz lessons. Tubb recorded duets with the then up-and-coming Loretta Lynn in the early 1960s, including their hit “Sweet Thang”. Tubb is a member of the Country Music Hall of Fame.
