This one's going out to my coding / .NET / C# circles.
If you're ever looking to replace Guids or int identity columns for your entities' Ids, this might be worth looking at. I  have a new project up on GitHub, with a corresponding NuGet package, that creates part-timestamp / part server-hash / part-random Ids in Base36. They're configurable in length, but somewhere from 16-25 characters is best. Ids are ascending but not sequential, like this (generated one after the other):

00E4W-G2GTO-0IEMF-Y911Q-KJI8E
00E4W-G2GVL-9KEMF-Y91IN-18341

If you're interested, the GitHub project is linked below, and the NuGet package is at https://www.nuget.org/packages/Funcular.IdGenerators/.  Questions are welcome. Thanks!

I really like what Satya Nadella is doing with Microsoft lately. It's almost like he recognized from the get-go what sucked about Microsoft, and started his stint as CEO determined to undo all of it. He's off to a pretty good start!
