Yeah, some of my favorites aren't here, proly some of yours as well, but a lot of classics, and I'm for any effort to get fans of NuWho to check out the classics.

Not a bad Tom Baker impression.
Here's a great spoof of Doctor Who - at least, the Tom Baker incarnation.

There's no way to link to Katie Denny Neville's Facebook post, but I wanted to share this diagram. As Umair Haqiue notes today http://umairhaque.blogspot.com/ even the IMF is beginning to see the link between equality and economic prosperity. http://www.imf.org/external/pubs/ft/fandd/2011/09/berg.htm The less people can earn and spend, the less well the economy performs. People go too deeply into debt just trying to keep up. http://www.businessinsider.com/how-to-fix-the-economy-2011-10 And greater social ills - such as illiteracy, disease, poverty, waste, environmental failure - afflict society. We have to return to the cause: to reduce the political influence of the very wealthy and large corporations, return democracy to the people, and begin distributing the wealth of society more equitably.

So Google Plus is public, now wonder I'm getting added by lots of people with unfamiliar names or, in some cases, alphabets.

My workshop, the Fall 2011 NoHoScriptLab, starts this Saturday (September 10th). It's open to all scriptwriters - features, TV or new media, with a focus on first time writers.

The workshop runs from September to December from 9:00AM-12:15PM and the cost for the whole 4-month session (thanks to some generous support from LA's Adult Education division) is only $10. There is no pre-registration, just stop by the office of the Whipple Learning Center at 10952 Whipple Street (near the Vineland/101 interchange) before the first lab to sign up.

Info's at <http://NoHoScriptLab.org/>, and contact me if you have any questions.

Hell yes.
For 4 years of my life I taught junior high and high school kids in Inglewood, Ca. Inglewood is what they call an "at-risk" youth population meaning that there is plenty of crime and ways for a student to fall off the schooling wagon. During my time in Inglewood it was more than obvious to me that the biggest reason for students to fall behind was their parents.

I understand that low wage dual parent income households have a hell of a time making ends meet. However, parents need to wake up and realize that the school system is there to provide a learning environment for the child not to shove information, like it or not, down a minor's throat.

No matter what the burden of child raising, the burden of teaching a child to be curious and love to learn falls directly on the shoulders of the parent. A teacher can inspire, can aid, can show the right direction but will never ever be able to take the place of the parent.

Stop treating teachers like they are surrogate parents.
