This is so weak!  A marketing agency writes a post for Business 2 Community.  It's about "SEO Myths", which is fine, I've written a similar post... we all probably have at some point.

The author decides to drop "SEO in Toronto" and "SEO Toronto" throughout the post.  That's cool, I see what they're trying to do... whatever.  I also applied to write for B2C and in full disclosure it was primarily because the articles are picked up in Google News (or were).

Does Business 2 Community have editors?  Did they read the post? Is the author running a weak citation test?

So now the post is blindly shared and will probably earn some links here and there.  Damn that's frustrating.

Here's the post: http://www.business2community.com/seo/5-seo-myths-needed-dismantling-01148099?newcomment=1#comment-1238839

A bit of a retread topic, but I keep running into these SEO Myths:

Well this is unfortunate.  This press release highlights everything that's wrong with the industry and SEO.  Notice the anchor text.  Notice the company creates their own top 10 list, then puts out a release as if that were news.

Not news.  Weak content.  Spammy anchor text (at least it's nofollow'd) and I'm sure they think the release is going to help with their own SEO.  Want to be they run a link building campaign into the newswire release and/or this syndicate version?  Where have I seen that before?

Albeit too long, I appreciate the title is written more like an AdWords ad.

Posted this to a GA community as well, but figured I'd try you guys too.

In a jam.  Anyone have ideas?  I'm stuck trying to get analytics on an external domain that is running a 3D flip book software that only integrates w/ classic GA, not Universal Analytics.  Can't create a new GA account for classic, since Google Analytics is forcing me into a UA account.  The GA integration w/ the software provider does NOT allow for cross domain tracking.  Ugh.

Yowzas!
#MozCast  Alert - After a week of record-low temperatures (May 11 was the 3rd lowest temp on record since April 2012), we're seeing heavy Google algorithm flux between yesterday morning and this morning (with a temp of 97.6°). This does not seem to be a glitch (confirmed across multiple data centers), and other tracking sites are seeing heavy activity coming out of the weekend.

No confirmation from Google or clear signals at this point. Many of our secondary metrics (http://mozcast.com/metrics) have been in flux lately, but no huge one-day changes. We're seeing some shuffling in domain crowding, but that happens even on normal days, to some degree.

One oddity over the past two days. Ebay, which generally falls into our "Big 10" (top 10 domains by overall rankings) took a sizable hit. For the larger MozCast 10K data set, it looks like this:

5/18 - #6, 0.85%
5/19 - #12, 0.52%
5/25 - #25, 0.28%

In other words, two days ago, Ebay had just short of 1% of all of the top 10 rankings in our data set, as of today, it's lost 2/3 of those positions and fallen from the 6th overall domain to 25th. Ebay does have two subdomains that rank (the other is popular.ebay.com), which can cause complications, but this is a very large shift for a "Big 10" site. It's large enough of a shift to move the temperature needle, although it's unlikely that this is the whole story.
