On 7/1/13, several significant changes to Georgia's workers' compensation law will go into effect.  Some good for the injured worker and some not so good.  Good - The maximum benefit rate has been increased for the first time since 2007.  Not so good - Medical treatment will be limited to 400 weeks following an accident for most on the job injuries.  You can click on the link below for a more detailed rundown of the changes.

Georgia is a comparative negligence state.  What that means is that if you are ever injured in a car accident in which you are partially at fault, the damages to which you are entitled are reduced by your percentage share of fault.  Your share must be less than 50% in order to make any recovery on your claim.

Please pay attention when behind the wheel.  Of the more than 65,000 people killed in car accidents in the United States over the last two years, approximately 10% involved collisions where at least one of the drivers was distracted.
