Create a clear, concise value proposition to advance your #hcsm #hcldr goals! http://ow.ly/dQC1304i86L Watch me makeover Dr. Jill Wener's professional site with 4 elements: Clinicians, advocates, academics, drug or device companies - all need a clear value proposition that is easily found online, that succinctly identifies 1) who you are professionally (physician, author, speaker, educator, inventor, researcher), 2) who you intend to reach (your audience, customer, future collaborators/trainees), 3) what service or product or experience you offer, and 4) how engaging with you and your offering will change life for your intended audience or customer.

What shows up at the top (AKA "above the fold") when you google your name? Is it your best self? Is it negative? Is it even actually YOU? This quick video shows why it is absolutely essential to know how digital strategy and social media shape your digital footprint, even if you don't currently use those tools. You DO have influence over what is shown, and you should know what others see when they look for you. http://ow.ly/7VgP30447gp

Why do we think the grass is always greener elsewhere?  This persistent search for something better, and the possibly false belief that an alternative is superior, has a scientific explanation.

This nearly irresistible human experience is rooted in what cognitive scientists call the focusing illusion.

The focusing illusion describes how humans make judgments.  Generally, we focus on a subset of data instead of all possible data - and there are several very good reasons for this.  If we then give that subset of data more weight and importance than it otherwise deserves, this influences our decision making and our assessment of choice comparisons.  How does this sabotage you?  And how can you fix it?  Click below to read the full post.

You've heard about the $500 emergency popsicle?  Some are outraged by the bill, some are outraged by the outrage at the bill.  Here's some food for thought on commission bias and perceived value, especially in the modern healthcare paradigm that strives for shared decision making and patient centered care: http://goo.gl/q6SofP
