It is sad and disgusting as hard as people work to earn their money to waste it on a place like this. I realize that service all over Midland leaves a lot to be desired (not to mention the food), and we are conditioned to take what we can get, but this place reaches an all time low. The foul smell of dirty grease when you walk through the front door is a perfect indication of what you are in store for. The food and service is just pitiful. I thought I was being "punked". So sad that a restaurant owner can possibly believe that a beautiful building is enough, but that is all this place has going for it. That been said, I have no doubt they are raking in the money....but I have been there "twice"....my first and last! Ewwwww

I have been to the Garlic Press several times. It is fairly consistant and for the most part, friendly and quaint. It can get loud and hectic at times.(but I would say this is usually during lunch or peak times and can not be helped) I would prefer the bread to be warm/hot but that is the only negative thing I can say about the food except the desert menu could be improved on. Everything considered, I think it is one of the top 5 restaurants in West Texas.
