I may or may not have had leftover pork spare ribs for easter breakfast this morning.

I definitely did.

So, yeah... this was the tile job in my buddy's building in Chicago. I'm guessing (by guessing, I mean hoping) the construction was pre-WWII...

Attention GM owners: There is a recall in effect for several models. Also, a recall on the parts used to fix the last recall.

I just handed this list that my wife made for me to the guy at the spice shop. He didn't say anything, but when I realized, it got a little awkward. At least for me.

Burnhearts is one of the places in the Bay View area where the locals hang out. It's a great little corner joint set just two blocks off of the main Kinnickinnic drag. The beer list is stacked with strong micro brews, and changes with the seasons. The inside is cozy and intimate, with a decent selection of board games to play as well as shuffleboard and a pool table. In the summertime, you can sit outside and enjoy the summer evening.

I've been here twice now, and on both occasions were exceptional. The running theme at Braise is locally sourced food, and as a result everything is extremely fresh. There is a downside, however: The meat can be on the tougher side; I had a Strauss veal tender loin that was a bit chewy, but otherwise delicious. On my prior visit, I ordered a lake trout dish that was fantastic. Tough meat aside, a visit to Braise means a great meal at a very fair price. I've heard great things about the cooking classes as well.

recently changed ownership; it was closed, renovated, and received a menu overhaul. Many former regulars have been disillusioned with the new menu, which is more expensive than prior, and lacks the signature "2 sides and 2 sauces" with each entree. Everything is a la carte now, and more expensive. It's also more of a restaurant with a bar now, than a bar that serves food as it was previously. Since all of the changes have occurred, though, I must say the food is on an entirely different level than it was before. The food still has a southern theme... as part of the renovations a smoker was installed, and the pulled pork is tender, smoky, and delicious. I had the fried chicken last time I stopped in, and it's the best I've had outside of Memphis (Gus's fried chicken is far and away the best I've ever had). I'd recommend stopping in, but remember, it's not the shot-and-beer corner joint that it once was. Update: The brunch menu here is fantastic. I've been back a few times since my initial visit for dinner, and it has been outstanding every time.

This place is the best dive in all of Bay View, and the wings are the best in Milwaukee. Period. There's a cast of regulars in here that are pretty entertaining. Wing specials are on Sunday and Wed. Club Garibaldi is also a concert venue, and gets pretty great national acts (generally fantastic lesser known acts from the 80's and 90's) I've seen the Supersuckers and The Meat Puppets here, and the sound was incredible.

The staff is great, drinks are reasonably priced. There are great bands and DJs several nights a week. In the winter, the fireplace is a great cozy hangout. In the summer, the patio is very comfortable, too, and you can easily drink away the evening enjoying the wonderful weather. Watch out for Uncle Paul.

This is my go-to when I'm craving Italian food. Tenuta's is a really intimate, quiet corner Italian restaurant in a residential area of the Bay View neighborhood. If you go during the summer, you can dine outside on the sidewalk. The wine list is great, and they make the best Spaghetti Bolognese I've ever had last time I was there... It actually caused a little bit of a situation: I was full, but kept eating because it was so good. I paid the check and practically rolled home.
