#Addiction is persistent but the human spirit is #resilient. As Travis Meadows tells us, life is too long to live with bitterness. It was a long hard road to sobriety, but Travis would not be the same or probably even resonate in the ways he is resonating with so many without his struggle. The art of songwriting takes empathy because you have to put yourself in another person’s shoes. Travis’s experiences have granted him a deeper understanding of what it means to be human, and in turn, it’s made him a more prolific writer. You can’t write “Riser” if you don’t know what it feels like to be at your lowest. When you set out with a dream, more often than not, you have no idea how you will get there, or how long it might take. But what you can be sure of is that you’re going to come out stronger than when you started if you don’t give up. To tune in: https://itun.es/us/Twyk3.c?i=361427945

Once we have gathered the courage to be vulnerable enough to share our work and gift with the world, we are hopeful that our work will be well received. But the truth is, the courage that it took to get our creative and entrepreneurial engine running is often just the first step. Gillian Zoe Segal’s perspective on failure is refreshing, because it reminds us that #failure is simply a rite of passage. To tune in: https://itun.es/us/Twyk3.c?i=359133746

"What I normally tell folks is take a deep breath. I think, and it’s very easy, particularly when emotions grab us, for us to react; and most days, most minutes, and sometimes even most seconds of the day we don’t have to react within that millisecond. You have a little bit of time to take a deep breath and think and decide how you want to react, how you want to behave, and be more deliberate about what it is you’re going to do." - #AdmiralMichelleHoward discusses patience in the face of pressure on this week's #ChallengeYourThinking.
