A special thanks to St. Paul Lutheran Church and School in Boca Raton for their generous donation of clothing during our recent deployment in southern Africa. The clothing was much appreciated and will be put to good use.

And thanks to Paragon Water Systems for their donation of water bottles, which were also distributed during the trip. These are very thoughtful, tangible contributions which make a world of difference for many people.

This was possible from efforts by Delaney Hill and St. Paul Lutheran School along with all our donors and supporters. We are forever grateful.

It was an honor and a privilege to have spent the last seven days with volunteer members of the Wishing Well International Foundation South Africa as well as members from Wildlands, Hands at work and father Samuel. Thank you everyone for the hard work, the good times and the wonderful memories we all have now. There were many touching moments and we managed to make a positive impact on people's lives, who in spite of their hardship they always manage to smile. A special thanks to Peter, Igna and members of the H2O Mpumalanga team for coordinating the Hazyview and Oshhoek deployment ; Tony, Ken and Emile from H2O International SA for the support and hard work to make the entire trip possible; Sandile and David from Wildlands for the hard work and the Matenjua deployment; Cheridan from Touch Marketing for the photography and marketing; Quinty (for the hard work and the good laughs), Linda, Lene and staff from Villa Candilabra for being such gracious hosts, Liezel from H2O Westrand for the coordinating, and everyone who helped in any way to make this trip possible. Bravo...Well executed and a total success.

Day 5. We drove 8 hours from Ndumo in South Africa to Malolotja in Swaziland where we enjoyed a chilly evening around the fire. This was the coldest night of the trip.
We managed to cross the border around 10am and meet up with the Hands at Work crew for the second time. This border town of Oshoek has a high number HIV cases and lots of children high at risk. Hands at Work has been doing great work in this area for many years. In 2013 we deployed a filters here in several homes and in one of the community centers.
Today we met with Tyler Ralph and his team and installed two filters in the two other centers they operate in the area. We showed them the difference between the Biosand and Biofoam and left filters for them to deploy in high-priority locations.
We had a great day visiting GoGo (grandmother) who back in 2013 was taking care of six grandchildren. We checked her filter and after three years it was in perfect condition and working properly. Since we last saw her, four of her grandchildren had been deported back to Swaziland where they are staying with relatives (the parents are no longer around and had died of AIDS prior to our first meeting with her). It's incredible to witness the hardship that people go through. Seeing her has reinforced in all of us the drive to continue with our mission.

On Day 3 and after a meeting with the elders at the first school we delivered filters and bottles to 4 more schools impacting nearly 2000 children. From our perspective it was a successful day. We educated children on the importance of drinking clean water and Sandile was our star. He has a way of engaging with everyone and obviously being from the area he is well liked and respected. Made it to camp after dark and after making a stop to see Sandile's mom. Along the way we stopped at a childhood spot where Sandile and friends would stand on the edge and almost see all of Swaziland. Once at camp we had a chance to recap and tell Sandile what a great day he had planned for all of us. Teachers, students, the elders representing the chief were all engaged and prepared for next year's big Expedition.
