Learn about cutting edge technologies being used at the Oklahoma State University’s Center for Veterinary Health Sciences. 🐶

#okstate is the first veterinary school to offer focused ultrasound treatment as a service in addition to surgery and chemotherapy. These advancements allow OSU to be a leader in #VetMed.

“We're learning as we go what type of cancers may be more responsive or less responsive. Through this trial we are gaining information on how different tumors may react."

“Coming here really helped me grow as a person because I was very different at 18. I was coming from Norman, and when I came here, I started finding who I was. I think being at OSU helped me find out a lot about my life. If anyone has that kind of opportunity, I think they should take it. The experiences I’ve had here are incomparable to how my life would be if I hadn’t chosen OSU.

Junior year was when I realized I am in the right place. Being in this environment, surrounded by great people, I realized ‘life is good right now’, and I think that when I started coming into my own and figuring out who I was.

For me, each day is busy. Really busy. I’m always running from place to place. I’m either at the library, the union or in class. I’m also a TA so I’m grading papers, and that takes a lot of time. So, I’m always doing something, but it’s useful to be busy.

I just applied for the Fulbright scholarship so if I get that, I’ll be going to Rwanda. I was born in Congo, but my biological father is from Rwanda, so I have a lot of family there. I’m also hoping to share American culture with them while learning what my life could have looked like had we stayed.

This ties into my future goals as a lawyer because there are far too many people who don’t have their voices heard for arbitrary reasons such as place of birth, social status and socioeconomic status. They need a voice, and that’s what I intend to be. If that doesn’t work out, I’m applying for the peace corps.”
