Here's the deal. I'm from the Bay Area, so I understand that I live in an ideal location when it comes to Sushi. That said, I walked into AKI Sushi after looking at the reviews here on Google. It was 8pm and the place and there wasn't a soul in site.
The decor was lame but being from the Bay Area, you can not judge a book by it's cover. I expected the food to be the secret ingredient.
Well the ingredients were the core of the problem. We ordered the wontons as an appetizer. I was impressed at how cheap they were. When they arrived, I knew why. They were very small and filled with a few strands of the cheapest imitation crab I've ever tasted. I didn't taste anything like crab and cream cheese. I could not finish them.
We had 3 sets of rolls and none of them tasted up to par.
Not one person arrived to eat while we were there and the service was still slow.
My feeling is that locals are rating this place and and the locale is a small section of Plano with not much around. Eat at your own peril.
