This is the papercraft that started me on the path to designing my own. Shunichi Makino (SF Papercraft Gallery) created a paper toy with high-friction rotation joints - my first time building such a thing!

Fourteen years later, the design is revisited, with cosmetic and technical improvements. Can't wait to spend a weekend building a 2X scale AT-AT with 110 lb cardstock!

Hey William,

When I don't know what to build, I pick up some pieces and try to combine them in ways I haven't before.

Something big can grow from it...

(prototype giant robot built with Poplocks Free Forms free download patterns - lots of 3x5 plates, some triangles, and semispheres made out of 1x5 bars as the hip rotators.)
