Hi #Google. I don't want #Gmail to suggest my Google+ connections as recipients, even if we haven't exchanged email addresses yet. I don't know anyone who wants that feature. The online world is probably already too small and our privacy is already too hard to protect. Thanks, though.

Way to end the week on a high note! The +Triangle Business Journal just published a great article by Jason deBruyn on the increased role #NursePractitioners could be playing in #healthcare , and the unnecessary restrictions they face in North Carolina. All four of the NPs quoted in the article are NCNA members, and they represented themselves - and all APRNs - incredibly well. So here's a late-Friday shoutout to Lela Hopson, Bobby Lowery, Leslie Sharpe and Deborah Varnam. Fantastic job!

#ThrowbackThursday : During World War II, US Army Hospital Ship Larkspur was deployed to the European Theater. Cost of the ship, fittings & equipment was underwritten through war bond subscriptions of NCNA and two other organizations. Yesterday marked the 193rd anniversary of the birth of Florence Nightingale and the end of this year's National Nurses Week. Click here to see a great profile of "The Lady with the Lamp" that aired on CBS Sunday Morning. We still pay tribute to Nightingale in our logo, which features her lamp and flame along the northern border of the state outline. #nurses #nursing

Tar Heel Nurse from 50 years ago for #throwbackthursday .

Here's what the caption said: "It takes more than a wheelchair to keep Mrs. Anna Mecum, retired nurse in Asheville, from the polls on election day. Despite her 78 years and being confined to a wheelchair, she dutifully cast her ballot in a recent city election. As a member of District One, Mrs. Mecum also keeps up with her profession and its activities. She is a fine example of a nurse recognizing her duties as a citizen." #tbt #nursing
