A slap on the wrist for Bristol Nursing Home. Most nursing homes are actually owned by large corporations, which generally only change behavior for the better when they are forced to realize that with the added cost of lawsuits.

Some elderly people are either unable or in some cases unwilling to complain. This was the generation that was raised during the Great Depression and came of age during the Second World War; they were often taught to "suck it up" and deal with it. This doesn't mean that they have to or should.

The largest single cause, at 36 percent, of potentially preventable hospital emergency room visits made by nursing home residents is injury due to a fall. http://www.nursinghomeabusecenter.org/resources/Falls-and-Nursing-Home-Abuse.html
Falls in nursing homes can be a sign of nursing home neglect. For free and expert legal consultation call 1-800-516-4783

A pretty good example of why we need additional regulation over hiring at nursing homes...

The manager of this nursing home has already been caught robbing residents once, and wasn't fired, so has now been caught stealing $10k for a second time.

Bizarre Situation: Nursing home patient wants no health interventions, so nursing home employee let's them die by not performing CPR. Now employee is potentially facing criminal charges.

For those trying to select a nursing home, here's yet another worry...

There are unlicensed nursing homes operating across the country with zero state supervision, and they're not disclosing this to residents. So make sure to request a copy of the nursing home's license.

I've liked this place for a very long time. Family friendly, and family owned, the pizza is significantly better than all of the chain restaurants around Kingwood. Order thin crust pizza, it's what they are known for.

Was at a wedding here in May 2013. This country club used to be dated and old. They've invested a ton of money into revamping the bar, restaurant, club shop and pool areas. To me, it now looks like the high-end country club they are trying to go for.

Probably has the nicest office of any orthoontist I've ever seen. I like the kids game room, and the quote wall. The doctor and staff are really organized and nice, and the location, in the back of Kingwood across from Riverwood middle is personally very convenient for me.

A Kingwood area icon, John who manages the restaurant has been serving what I think is the best chinese food in Kingwood for years. It's generally really quiet, and the corn soup is my favorite.

Shockingly poor customer service. It's not that any single person is rude, but more that one person tells you something will get done, but won't tell you the name of the person who is actually going to do it. Then when you call back because they've missed the appointment they have no idea what you're talking about. The problem, is that in Kingwood you don't have a lot of choices for cable and internet companies, but if at all possible, steer clear of these guys.

I really like Amadeos and have been coming here for years. I was afraid after Tony Raffa opened Raffa's in the back of Kingwood, that the quality would decline, but it hasn't. This is probably the best italian food in Kingwood, it's not a chain restaurant and the bar is also among the best hangouts on a weekend or weekday evening. My only complaint, is that its in a pretty ugly strip center, and the decor inside, while nice, is a little dated.
