Absolutely one of the hidden gems in Sacramento that gained some measure of fame on Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives. The regular items on the menu are inventive and delicious while their daily specials are unique and fun. I have not had a single dish yet that I did not like. Their patio in the back is where most of the seating is located, but there is still almost as much room inside the unassuming building. And, if you like beer, the bar is always stocked with lots of brews on tap. Pint nights and other special events are always extra fun at Dad's. If you like good food in local locations with character, Dad's is a must visit. You might just make it a regular stop like I have.

I went to the new and old location. I think I like the old location better. The bacon blue burger was incredible the first time I had it at the original location. Then I tried it months later at the new location and it was just ok. Still really good. But the first time blue (pun intended) me away. That bacon and cheese crust was something else. Its an awesome burger either way and still a good place to eat.

I had lunch here for the first time this past Saturday. I took my lunch to go because I had errands to run and was doing laundry across the street. I got the burger and garlic fries. Twenty five minutes for a burger and fries? I was hoping the wait would be worth it. I was wrong. I opened the fancy box five minutes after I got it and what I got was soggy bun and fries. I literally had a puddle of water or juice on the bottom of my box. My fries and bottom bun were soggy. The fries that I did eat were nothing special. The burger probably would've been even tastier if it wasn't soggy. I also think this place is overpriced. Fifteen bucks for a burger and fries that is comparable to an Applebees burger. I was truly disappointed. If you want to blow 15 bucks for a burger I'd suggest going to Burger and Brews downtown.

The wait was terrible!!! That said, it was a very busy holiday at lunch time. I would expect any good restaurant to have a long wait. We just weren't expecting it. The staff was very nice while we waited, offering us drinks, even took our order while we waited for a table. The wait was so long we had to take our food to-go before getting a table. Frustrated, we ate the food in the car on the way home. We were blown away by the taste! Awesome sandwich, burger (everything perfect on the burger), and our daughter's quesadilla was tasty. We can't wait to go back, but on a different day at a different time.

Dads burger with the habanero french fries is about as good a burger and fry meal you can possibly get. Amazing. Plus 30 or more nice craft beers on top. Best burger and beer spot in Sacramento.

My wife's french fries were great and the butger was OK. Everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves. The meatloaf had a very fine texture and tasted like canned meat, like dogfood perhaps. The gravy came in one rubbery lump. The mashed potatoes were watery with undercooked chunks of potatoes. My wife liked the green beans. And, of course, no one asks you how you liked your meal.
