When we consider the doctrine of election: that God chooses to save certain individuals and allows others to continue in sin; our reaction can be strong. It seems initially to be very unfair. Paul recognizes this as a likely reaction from his readers when he says in Romans 9:14 "What shall we say then? There is no injustice with God, is there? May it never be!" Join with us as we study through Romans 9 and delve into the difficult doctrine of election and what God's Word has to say about it. Is election real? If so, when does God choose certain men and why? What fundamental attribute of God is at the core of this doctrine? Find out the answers to these questions and more. Listen to "Biblical Election 101!" from 11/4/2018 at http://www.southraleighbiblechurch.org/sermons.php

In the midst of Israel's rebellion and God's pending judgment, the prophet Jeremiah declares: "Thus says the LORD, 'If the heavens above can be measured, and the foundations of the earth searched out below, then I will also cast off all the offspring of Israel for all that they have done,' declares the LORD." (Jer. 30:37) As both of these feats are impossible for man, these promises to Israel are obviously secure. Yet in Romans 9:6 doubts may have arisen as the Apostle Paul states, "But it is not as though the word of God has failed," in response to the fact that many in Israel have rejected the Messiah as well and their future seems bleak. Join us as we examine the promises of Scripture and learn about God's faithfulness to both Israel and to us. What is your philosophy of Spiritual Growth? "Let go and let God", "Pull yourself up by your own bootstraps", or "Working with the strength God supplies?" If you chose the chain saw in the attached photos, you chose correctly. Philippians 2:12-13 states that not only must we put forth real effort towards spiritual growth, but at the same time God is actively working in our lives. To learn more about how both man and God are vital parts of spiritual growth, listen to "The paradox of Obedience!" at: https://www.sermonaudio.com/sermoninfo.asp?m=t&s=1014181933459

How concerned are you for the lost? In Romans 9:2-3, the Apostle Paul goes so far as to say that if it was possible for him to take the place of his lost Jewish kinsmen in hell so that they could be saved, he would do so. That is how deep his concern for their salvation was. How does your compassion for the lost compare to that of Paul's? When is the last time you were so concerned for someone's eternal well being that you reached out to them with the life saving tools you possess: the truths found in the good news of Christ Jesus? Learn about Paul's passion for the lost and be encouraged to grow in your love for the lost. Listen to "How Much Do You Love the Lost?" from 9/23/2018 at http://www.southraleighbiblechurch.org/sermons.php.

Can a person ever be too sinful to receive God's forgiveness? The Bible is full of gripping examples of wretched people who received forgiveness and were transformed by the grace of God. Although our personal level of sinfulness may not match these individual's; each of us knows our own hearts and the depth of our sin. This week our hearts were filled with praise as we listened to the wonders of God's mercy towards us! Join in by listening to "God's Salvation is Sufficient!" from Romans 8:33-34 at http://www.southraleighbiblechurch.org/sermons.php

Did you choose God, or did God choose you? Romans 8:29 says, "For whom He foreknew, He also predestined to become conformed to the image of His Son..." When God foreknew those who would later become His children; was His foreknowledge and choice based on looking into the future to see if we would choose Him, or was it based on His merciful handpicking of us based on no merit or choice of our own? To find answers, listen to "The Golden Link of Foreknowledge" at https://www.sermonaudio.com/saplayer/playpopup.asp?SID=85181457551
