I love to game and saw that G+ offered some top notch games that I had already played and loved. I also found some other games that I liked to play, and met other wonderful people like myself who also loved to play the same games!
Then stuff started happening to the games we all played - mainly CityVille and now Mall World!
In CV, the game was having "connection problems", and then it just stopped working completely!
And in MW, they are closing the whole game down on May 3, 2013!
Funny thing is, I just created a fb account a few days ago, right before I found out about MW getting shut down. I wanted to play MW more, lol!
I am part of a MW group that is trying to keep itself together OUTSIDE of G+... seeing as how Google has also abandoned us to the mercy of these gaming platforms!
I am going to check out this other site in the hopes that if our group does migrate over there, since the platform of the game is their own, that the game won't be shut down, at least anytime soon!
I am posting this to get these matters known to more people who may not know what is happening. After all, it may be just the gamers getting hit right now, but why stop there? If we can mess with this group of people and get away with it, why not do it to other groups of people?!
Just trying to get the message across to those who may think that this does not/will not affect them; you don’t know that for sure. I went from CV being my primary game to not playing it in less than 9 months, and MW in just over a year! Complaining to either Google or the makers of MW and CV has not produced any results so I fail to see why they have a contact us link on their pages. Why do they say they “offer help” when in reality they don’t?!
I think they should at least apologize to all the people that have spent their actual money on these games; a “hey we’re sorry we ripped you off” apology may not seem like much, yet it’s better that what these people actually got – a big fat NOTHING!
Maybe I joined G+ for all the wrong reasons, believing they were right, but I know I joined fb for all the wrong reasons – to play MW! Pathetic I know, considering the hassles of all their pop-ups, ads and adding friends’ rules! For a social sight, they have way too many rules for adding friends and trying to be social with each other.
Ah, well, this is my rant against the injustices of the internet, you could say. It’s not the first time a website has closed its users out of the platforms that they are using, and I suspect that it surely won’t be the last!
I’d like to say happy playing people, but I don’t think I will. After all, what is there to be happy about anymore?!
I used to be on Prodigy in the 1990s & AOL came along w/ their cheap prices & Prodigy disappeared along with all my friends there. And big mucky-muck AOL is gone too.
MySpace was this huge thing that I never joined. But I did try Facebook only to have no one friend me in the 3 yrs I've been there.
G+ was the 1st that felt like Prodigy again.
Go out in the real world & everybody is now always on their cell phones.
I feel so lonely!
"vivre et laisser vivre"
ironic when i think about it now, lol, what with the mannequin and all, hehe!
ah, well, my sense of humor at play!
