My latest piece for +Tourisme Montréal news and travel blog, about the family-oriented #Montréal Space for Life / +Espace pour la vie museums, which comprises the Biodome, Insectarium, Botanical Garden and—my favouite—the #Planetarium, which (trust me on this) is a GREAT place to go on a first date! It has that wonderful old-school planetarium feel, and double features currently screening at the Planetarium include Asteroid: Mission Extreme 🌌
Children of all ages can discover new worlds at the Montréal Space for Life museums, the largest natural sciences museum complex in Canada.

My latest piece for +Concordia University news, an interview with, among others, artist Gage K. Diabo, about his experience on +CBC Radio One's Turtle Island Reads, which is like #CanadaReads for #Indigenous books. Says Diabo, “Speaking as a literature buff, there’s currently this massive and ever-growing pool of #indigenous novels, poems and plays out there; the trick is finding out what they are and where to find them.”
Concordians Gage K. Diabo, Heather White and Elma Moses took part in CBC Montreal’s Turtle Island Reads

From the #ThreeDollarBill  archives: Bestselling #Hollywood biographer David Bret outs legendary movie star #ClarkGable who infamously had director #GeorgeCukor fired from +Gone With the Wind because Cukor was #gay. Gable also outed other actors such as Johnny Mack Brown and Rod La Rocque to prevent himself from being outed. Says Bret, "It was okay for Gable to deny he’s gay. But to ruin his boyfriend’s career? That wasn’t cool. But Hollywood is a cutthroat business."

"As Michael Musto is to New York City, Richard Burnett is to Montréal." - The Montréal Buzz
Introduction
Richard Burnett has self-syndicated Three Dollar Bill in Canada's alt-weeklies for 15 years, been banned in Winnipeg, investigated by Royal Newfoundland Constabulary over charges TDB was "pornographic", gotten death threats, outed politicians like former PQ leader Andre Boisclair, been vilified in Jamaica's daily The Gleaner for trashing anti-gay dancehall star Sizzla (who would go on to write the 2005 hit song "Nah Apologize" about Burnett and UK activist Peter Tatchell), pissed off BB King, crossed swords with Mordecai Richler, been screamed at backstage by Cyndi Lauper and got the last-ever sit-down interview with James Brown. Burnett was Editor-at-Large of HOUR until the Montreal alt-weekly folded in 2012, is a columnist & writer for both Fugues and Xtra, writes the POP TART blog and "Seven Days Seven Nights" column for Montreal daily The Gazette, is a pop-culture pundit on CJAD 800 AM Radio and CURTAINS UP Virtual Media Network. Burnett was named one of Outlooks magazine's Canadian Heroes of 2009, famed porn director Flash Conway dubbed Burnett "Canada’s bad boy syndicated gay columnist" and The Montreal Buzz says, "As Michael Musto is to New York City, Richard Burnett is to Montréal."
