On Communicating Science  -

Every scientist has a story, right? But, if you're a scientist, can you communicate your story to scientists outside your field or to a layperson? Can you sell your ideas to someone who has two minutes (or less) to listen to you? Like it or not, as science evolves, the ways by which we communicate about science evolve, too. Scientists today are using blogging and social media platforms such as Twitter, LinkedIn, and Google+ to obtain funding, find jobs, build collaborations, share ideas, or simply curate the incredible amount of science news available today. Come join this hangout with 5 San Diego (recovering) scientists active on Twitter to hear their experiences and 'how-to' get started with Twitter.

Webinar today! Maybe we can get some ideas from this on how to get funding for ScienceOnline San Diego?  It's focused on lab funding but mentioned science education projects too.

I thought the links in this article were good, for a Google+ novice, you can quickly breeze through and pick up some tips.

I liked this.  Distinguishing good science writing vs improved communications and making the case we need more of both.
