Fabulous! Eccentric! Unusual! Part throw Hemingway throwback, part "Bagdad Cafe", part avant garde in the eastern sierra of all places. This place is so cool.

Stopped in just to get the French Onion soup. Interesting place. Interesting owners. The French Onion soup is the real deal. Loved it. I will come back the next time I am in the area.

Best food on the entire 395 corridor by far. I spend a lot of time in the eastern sierra and have eaten at just about every restaurant, and now I only eat here. Crazy eccentric French owners, but they are legit chefs.

6 visits-always great food! Small, but good wine selection.Yes, the owners are French-they care about the food--Ok, maybe a bit crazy, but you try to deliver Parisian quality food on the 395 highway. Every time, the food was perfect. Soup 100%, sausage special was great, salads have been fresh and lovingly made. They have always been gracious and fun to talk with. When there was time, the chef was conversational about the fare- VERY rare. I think you'll enjoy this little gem east of the sierras.

Outstanding food. We had the pork & duck Galatine, pork chop, Cornish hen, and croque madmoiselle. Magnifique!

This is a wonderful place, albeit a bit of a drive from the main metro areas of California. We stopped for lunch only so we didn't get to sample much, but the onion soup and the pine nut salad were both very good, excellent in face. The francophone staff were efficient and helpful. The walls are covered with still lifes, as the name of the place would suggest. Worth a visit if you are in the area.

I had the misfortune to order mussels. They were the special, so I assumed they were fresh. They didn't smell 100% right and were too soft, but I thought it was just me because everyone else was enjoying theirs. Ate a few mussles and couldn't finish them. Was sick all night. The owner was rude when I didn't finish the mussels. When I called in to say I'd been poisoned, both the owner and the chef were amazingly rude and yelled at me about the top quality of their food. Additionally, the onion soup wasn't particularly good -- oversalted and the stock lacked mouth feel. If you want to be treated with disrespect and overcharged for mediocre french food, this is you place. The one star is for an authentic french experience. Otherwise it would have been no stars.
