I have played this course twice now and I really enjoy the layout and the staff is very friendly. This course has quite a bit of elevation change which makes walking a tougher challenge but I enjoy the exercise part of golf so I don't mind. They have a pretty awesome lunch special for $5 that includes a burger or dog and a bag of chips before you head out to the back 9.

This has been my home course since I began playing golf ten years ago. If I'd known it was so much fun I wouldn't have waited until 50 to start playing this game. Mission Trails is a great course and the greens yesterday were in great shape. This course has a wide variety of holes which will appeal to all types of golfers. I still consider myself a hacker but keep coming back because every round has a couple of "wow" shots which encourage my return. Thanks Mission Trails for your great service, wonderful course setup, and an enjoyable round of golf every time. Kenneth Boss Nice new golf carts too!!!!!

Booked a tee time at 1245 Saturday morning, didn't get into hole 1 until 140.. Staff was rude, and un accommodating. Great course clouded by terrible service. Next time I'm in San Diego I won't play here.

Play early and play fast. Course is in great shape and the greens are some of the best in San Diego. Played 9 holes Sunday morning before kick off in 2 hours.

come here often, really enjoy the golf course. there are some challenging holes but overall the course is challenging enough to keep you very entertained. the pace can get slow at times, its probably best to come here looking for a relaxed pace. overall mission trails is fun to play and highly recommended.

My friends and I have played this course many times. It is a fun challenge for mid-handicappers; low handicappers might find it a bit of a snore-fest. This past Saturday, my friend and I booked a 1:15PM tee time and for the first time ever we actually got to tee off on time (Note: this course is ALWAYS backed up on Saturdays; they seem to always blame the backup on their men's club) so we thought that we'd have a chance of getting in a relatively short round. NOT SO. There were two groups directly in front of us whose members could barely hit the ball 20 yards at a time (one group was hitting from the blue tees!) And do you think the course ranger would SAY anything to them about slow play? Apparently not! So our on-time start ended in a six-plus hour experience. I think I'll avoid this place on the weekends from now on and stick to playing the course only during the week (I do like the course, it's the management that's the problem).

booked tee time for 2:15 and didn't get off until 2:45, on the 4th hole there were 8!!! carts waiting to tee off, apparently this hole is drivable so everybody goes for it. I spent 40 minutes waiting to tee off #4; no joke. There is no pace of play monitoring here, keep that in mind when you think your gonna save a few bucks to play here. I was a single paired with 2 players who bailed after #4. so i joined the group behind me making a 5some. the next hole they decided to go and find some open space on the course somewhere and left. so i joined the group infront of me on the next hole. When we made the turn, a group of 3 that weren't infront of us on the front 9 had jumped in. Its like a free for all out here, groups driving all over the course looking for open space. played 11 holes in 4.5 hours, not my best golfing experience...

I enjoy playing at Mission Trails because, for a public course it can be challenging. I play the mid to high 80’s (sometimes even higher) and for the price, I find it to be a great deal. That and the fact that it is close to me makes this my course I go to all the time. For the most part I have been partnered with nice people and have had a great time. The staff is great and tries to make the experience even better. The placement of trees and those never to be sufficiently darned ditches, make ball placement kinda important. While the greens aren't the best in the city, they sure aren't worst. All and all it is well worth it.
