Community Issues  -

Hey all, I've just found this community and thought there maybe some interest in a project I've been working on for about 12 months. The aim is a fully capable engine management system based on an Arduino Mega with both spark and ignition control. It's currently up and running  and has fired a couple of engines in a static environment.

Basic features are:
8x8 maps with interpolation
Support for missing tooth crank wheels up to 36-1
Alpha-N or Speed Density load control
High-Z injector hardware
Compatible with Tuner studio (http://tunerstudio.com/) for tuning

Currently working on things such as acceleration enrichment in order for it to be properly usable on a road vehicle, but hoping that will be done shortly. It runs entirely through the arduino IDE with only VERY limited use of assembly (and even then, only in a 'black box' capacity). I've done 1 small round of boards for testing, but want to do at least 1 more run before finalising it.

I'm at the point where other people starting to play with it would be good as it's moderately usable. If there's any interest I'll start putting together some more complete documentation.

currently it has two coil packs, distributerless ignition. One set of sparkplugs (and coil) on the intake side of the engine, one on the exhaust side.

These looks pretty nifty and the price is really impressive for what it is. If anyone else is interested I'll go for the double pack ($30 off and half the shipping).

This is an amazing piece of work for the price if anyone is interested in game cabinets.

As an exceedingly casual gamer, this is exactly the sort of thing I've been waiting for.

Not sure if anyone is interested in this sort of thing, but here's a close up shot I did today to try and show a fuel injector firing.

I'm interested but I'm in Perth. I couldn't afford linux.conf =/

I came across this site on Reddit this morning. Seems pretty cool. Their aim is to be the Etsy of open hardware, so good for both buyers and sellers.

Another day, another company to #switch2osm. This time it's Apple! The new iPhoto uses OpenStreetMap data for much of the world outside the US.
