It's been a while since I checked, so I'm pleasantly surprised to see that +Flayrah is showing up properly over here. A year ago, G+'s syndication support was hit-and-miss, but they seem to have pulled it together.

Of course, it's still a relative wasteland compared to Facebook, let alone Twitter. But a pretty one, full of flat button links and CSS3 box-shadows!

(It did, however, manage to automatically decide I wanted to post the above to "Furry Web Development & Technology". Close, but no cigar, Google.)

We just had a major release at Inkbunny, and I'd like to highlight prefetching and prerendering as technologies of interest to other furry web developers.

These tools are aimed at ensuring that you get and render what you need before you would otherwise know you need it; especially important for mobile devices and low-powered tablets which are often not fast in any sense.

You can find out more at the links in the "Performance and Infrastructure" section. It's not rocket science, but it can sure boost perceived performance!

(There's additional information available via the reference links .)

Our VPS hosts vary with location and will change over time; we're currently on AWS in Brazil (making best use of a one-year trial), LeaseWeb (Virginia), Vultr (Australia and Tokyo; they have a two-month trial), OVH (Quebec) and IOFlood (Arizona).

Filed my federal taxes - down 2% from 2012! If only payroll hadn't risen 2%…

Google+ is offering me which . . . isn't quite what I'd like. But because I have Gmail, I can use - shorter and sweeter! (Now, if only I had a good reason to use G+)

This was a fun one to research last week. I think we might have been the first English-language source on Google News to cover it!

This was a fun panel, but they spoke so fast my fingers almost fell off!

Been a busy year - what stories did you miss? (Flayrah isn't yet available on G+, but we'll get it to you as soon as you can import RSS. For now, try using that, or our Twitter, Facebook or LJ feeds!)
