The "Coasties" never get enough credit for what they do. +Joe Kaiser here is a #MilitaryMonday shot of one of the Morro Bay CG Station, 47 foot life boats headed out into the Sunset, just doing their job.

+Joe Kaiser For many the CG is the forgotten service and they are not aware that these dedicated men and women come into harms way in combat overseas. Many forget, the "Coasties" were involved with all the major amphibian landings of WWII & Korea as pilots for many of the landing craft. They patrolled the waterways and coast of Vietnam along with the Navy and took their share of casualties. The most notorious of those was the friendly fire attack on the "USCGC Point Welcome"

They played an active role in the Gulf and both of the Iraq affairs.

+Matthew Costabile What would #fourwheeledfriday be without a 1950 Studebaker Champion Convertible?

So there are some wannabe refugees from the 50's here who like the idea of a Studebaker.

+Mike Spinak & +Dirk Vietzke This is the same Speckled Mousebird for #WildlifeWednesday but here he played aloof for the next frame and turned away. This time the EXIF and Metadata should be intact.

The Nikkor 70-300mm VR is surprisingly sharp & good value for a relatively inexpensive lens. I have been quite satisfied with it.
