A fine read. Did creating memories over experience really only come into play over the last 10 years or so?

A solid, quick read by +Tom Johnson, especially the part about how wikis and blogs can complement each other. Also good to check out if you're still trying to wrap your head around the concept of wikis.

I've never been able to figure out why my classmates and I were taught to avoid using Oxford commas.

Not only do I like the post's topic, but I give it bonus points for both including the video for Vampire Weekend's "Oxford Comma" AND the hilarious graphic explaining how an Oxford comma works!

...the Word debate rages on. This article, though, is far more realistic than the one I posted yesterday :)

Yeah, this makes sense. Would the idea ever go big, with companies like Microsoft doing the same thing?
On-line auto parts retailer pays for user-generated content, customers produce step-by-step videos of common parts replacement procedures

One of the leading experts in the field of technical writing says Ireland could be a world leader in the discipline, which employs thousands of people globally.

First line of the article:

"Most books on baseball are not particularly technical, because most people who buy books are not interested in technical writing."

Whatever.

+QuickLabel Systems Between mishandling a proven Boston star in Youkilis yesterday AND leaving Bard in way too long today, are you ready for Bobby V. to be shown the door????

No need to explain to me Bobby V.'s flaws -- he made it a regular point to announce them on a regular basis to the NY media back in 1999-2000. What a tool!

Is it's name really "Clippy"?

Interesting idea posited here, especially because I know a few tablet users who could actually use haptic feedback (like, a lot of it!) Just so long as it never appears in the form of a silly character...

Also, for all you sci-fi geeks, anybody remember THX1138, starring Robert Duval? If so, perhaps you'll recall the ambient technology used in the bathrooms when people would go to the medicine cabinet? A female voice would ask "What's wrong?," and, if I remember correctly, could offer immediate assistance.

Clippy was so universally disliked. Potentially they could come up with something sans the annoying personality.

Yes! Great article highlighting pretty much all of my problems with Word (note the article is two pages). Any tech writers out there using Word on a daily basis? If so, why?

(And I'm asking because I'm legitimately curious, not because I'm being a jerk!)

"they just installed it and started typing." Hahaha, so very true, though!

http://mashable.com/2012/04/11/google-plus-number-three/

I find Google+ much more practical than Facebook. However, my Google+ experience is also reliant on the rest of my social graph using it!

When it comes to gaining information relevant to my career and education, Twitter > Google+ > Facebook, but my social graph seems to prefer the "safety" of Facebook.
Google+ now claims 170 million users, but does that make it the number three social network?
