University of California, Santa Barbara has much more to offer than it's beautiful campus. If you're ever taking a stroll on the beach towards campus point, keep walking down the coast about 5-10 minutes South until you reach Goleta Pier. It's a nice place to hang out with friends on a sunny Santa Barbara day. You've got beach volleyball courts, picnic tables and places to Barbeque. Not too mention, you've got the Beachside Bar Café which has great food and most of the seating overlooks the ocean.

The beach is clean, broad, and with a huge, empty pier that's great for fishing and enjoying time on. Lots of benches, horseshoe pits, and BBQ pits by picnic tables. Spend an afternoon and an evening here on this quiet, but well kept piece of public land. It's free, too!
