Dangos now have competition. Guard your babies.

Clawed drone grabs prey on the fly just like an eagle
[...]Inspired by the way a bald eagle swoops down to seize a fish from the water with its claws, Justin Thomas and colleagues at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia have developed a fast-acting, talon-like gripper for a small unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV).[...]

This is slimy. Facebook creates a new revenue stream that is really just making money off people's generosity to help spread the word for our friends.

Greta and I are taking the plunge into the icy waters of Lake Champlain on Feb 2 for Special Olympics Vermont and their athletes. If you can spare a few dollars, any donation would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I can't say that there is too much to tell here. They took away white space, increased image detail page size. Added a [website] button - ohh,,,ahhh. They pulled embedded links (yes - less spammers). BUT>.. strangely, they pulled #hashtags.... ???? Not cool enough for Pinteresters?

Great article/info graphic that quickly outlines the updates to Pinterest (I have a hard time calling it a redesign).

Google putting the kabosh on Google Reader really marks the end of RSS I think. Seems most people are getting news that's filtered first through their social networks... which does make sense.

I should say that I definitely get a lot of news from my social networks but to me the habit of sitting down and reviewing my RSS feeds for particular sites is very different than seeing posts from organizations I've "liked" or shared posts in facebook.

It's almost like reading my RSS feed is like reading my morning newspaper in the morning. Whereas the social networking is like going to the diner in the morning and getting the latest buzz.

Maybe as I get better as creating different social network feeds, reviewing certain feeds will replace checking RSS.

Here's a scenario: "It's 2015 and you've just arrived back in New York City from a weekend trip. You're standing in Times Square when it occurs to you that you're hungry. So, literally in the blink of an eye, you call up information about all the nearby restaurants. You realize, however, that you could also use some companionship so you say 'friends nearby restaurants.' Just then you see that a pal of yours has checked in to Fannelli Cafe in SoHo. You quickly text him and arrange to meet. When you call up directions, you get an offer for $2 off your first Guinness. All thanks to Google Glass."

Here's how +Google Glass could change advertising in the future: http://on.mash.to/XZ2fl1

What do you think about the potential for Google Glass?

All I know is that I can do no wrong to buy anything for my lady here. I'm told that their handbags are highly sought after.

I just stayed there with a ski buddy. We were looking for an inexpensive no-frills clean place to stay. The reviews for the Colonial were all very positive for just that - and good service. I always prefer a family run place to a chain. We were not let down. The location was perfect and Jerry pointed us in the right direction for food, good beer, and a tasty breakfast. Thanks.

Peter, the owner, just left and I have brand new looking rugs in my home now... and my house doesn't smell like chemicals! So I wanted to thank them with a good review... Peter is a really nice guy and put in the time to educate me about the products he was going to use. All were non-toxic and family/earth friendly, which was essential for me. I learned that the company is family owned from the website, and I always prefer that. Elizabeth was very nice on the phone, provided good info and gave me a cost range (I wasn't quite sure how big my rugs were, so not exact). I like to know that I'm dealing with people who will take responsibility for the service and are putting their reputation out there when they deliver. I wasn't let down. So I'd recommend them without hesitation.

Molly is superb. Very skilled massage therapist with attention to detail. Definitely not just going through a routine. Warm comfortable studio with key location on Church St.

I reserved a small SUV but when I got there, they had none. They have very little inventory at this location, so if you really must have a specific car for a specific reason, this is not the safest bet.

I finally reached the age where a. I have too much stuff and b. my friends and family are done helping me move, so I called Heidi. Heidi and her husband own the business and she herself came out to my house on a Saturday to review and give me an estimate (Booska (competitor) was slow to respond and then wouldn't come out on a weekend). She helped me understand where I could save money, and gave me a clear run-down of the process. On game day, the crew came out. Nice group of young guys who were professional and courteous. They were flexible with my move-in, as I had to reschedule a few times, and the same crew returned to move me back in. No damage. No issues. And the estimate was spot-on. I'm not sure if I could have saved more with a national or bigger company, but what I liked was the personal service and the good crew. I knew I could trust them and glad I did. Definitely recommend.
