Tour Scotland Video of Loch Scavaig by Elgol, Isle Of Skye, Inner Hebrides, Scotland. Elgol, Scottish Gaelic: Ealaghol, on the shores of Loch Scavaig towards the end of the Strathaird peninsula. According to tradition, its name derives from a battle fought with five ships by Aella, a follower of Vortigern, against the Picts and Scots. The Strathaird peninsula was historically a heartland of the Mackinnons, a robustly Jacobite clan. On 4 July 1746, the Bonnie Prince Charlie, the Young Pretender, found sanctuary at Elgol in the course of his wanderings under the protection of Clan Mackinnon of Mackinnon and Captain John Mackinnon of Elgol.

Tour Scotland photograph of Temple Wood Stone Circle Kilmartin Glen, Scotland. Temple Wood, or Half Moon Wood, is an ancient site located in Kilmartin Glen, Scotland. The site includes two circles, north and south. The southern circle contains a ring of 13 standing stones about 12 meters in diameter. In the past it may have had 22 stones. In the center is a burial cist surrounded by a circle of stones about 3 meters in diameter. Other later burials are associated with the circle. According to the Historic Scotland information marker at the site, the southern circle's first incarnation may have been constructed around 3000 BC. The northern circle is smaller and consists rounded river stones, which also fill the southern circle. In its center is a single stone; another stone is found on the edge of the circle. This circle may have originated as a timber circle.

Tour Scotland video of storm clouds over Trotternish Ridge and the Old Man Of Storr, Isle Of Skye, Inner Hebrides. Trotternish or Tròndairnis in Scottish Gaelic, is the northernmost peninsula of the Isle of Skye. One of its more well-known features is the Trotternish landslip, a massive landslide that runs almost the full length of the peninsula. The landslip contains two of Skye's most famous landmarks: the Old Man of Storr, an isolated rocky pinnacle, and the Quiraing, an area of dramatic and unusual rock formations.
